Why do some women dialate early? Can it be prevented?

lol im 37 weeks and barely dilated 2-3cm I wasnt dilated at all last week. U can dilated early or late. Even if u dilate that doesnt mean ur going 2 have ur baby right away. I was dilated early with my daughter still had 2 be induced at 40 weeks 3 days.
