Doctor says it is most likely implantation bleeding....help!

edited March 2011 in Pregnant
So according to my doctor I am anywhere between 5 and 7 weeks prego and I started to have light bleeding it is not a lot just many when I go to the bathroom and wipe but sometimes it gets worse and then goes back to just when I wipe. My doctor ordered blood work to check my hcg levels and checked down there and said that so far from what she has seen is that she thinks it may just be implantation bleeding (when the placenta actually attaches itself to the uterine wall. I went through this with my first pregnancy and everything turned out fine and I carried my little girl to term but I am still freaked my husband says I should go to a different clinic to see if they would give me an u/s because this one isn't and I don't think that they are going to. Has anyone gone through this? What do you think I should do? Any advice would he great thanks!

  • If you're not bleeding heavily, then most likely it is just implantation. But if you are really concern then ask your doctor how it really worries you and you would like a little reassurance (it might be too early though to see anything in an u/s but just the sack so thats most likely why they didn't)
  • I'm 8 weeks and I've been lightly bleeding for over a week, I just had my first dr appt and she says my cervix is just irritated. She told me to avoid sex for a few weeks. It sucks that they won't give you an ultrasound though.
  • I just cameback from the er! And I'm not just lightly bleeding but bleeding heavily they checked my hgc levels and did a pelvic exam but they said everything is fine should I still worry I'm concerned :(
  • Bleeding in the first trimester is always so scary cuz you think it should never happen isn't that what's supposed to happen you get pregnant and you quit having a period or bleeding until you actually have the baby. They say its common for a percentage of women to bleed during pregnancy but even when they say things like that there is no way to stop us from freaking out especially because we have no freaking idea what's going on in there. I'm so worried but I know that there is nothing to do but sit and wait and see what happens this is the worst waiting game in the whole world.
@laurenrosebarks I'm sad to hear that you are bleeding heavily and I really hope that it goes nowhere from there but to a happy healthy baby but no matter what anyone says we all know we all will still worry like no other until we have that definate reassurance and a baby in our arms.
@laura586 I feel ya I wish they would give me an u/s too when this happened with my first I was about the same weeks along and the hospital I went to gave me a u/s and they saw a heartbeat and everything I don't see why anything has to be so different now.

Best of luck to all you mommies I know I need it!

  • Not to mention that I'm a type one diabetic and stress is not my friend so it just makes it more complicated when I stress and my sugar goes up:( in only six weeks but this limitless one means the world to me!
  • The doctor called today and said that my hcg levels are a little low and that this could mean only one of two things that I'm not as far along as thought or that I am in the process of lossing the baby. I go in tomorrow to have more blood drawn to see if my levels are still doubling or not I'm so scared that I'm losing the baby and I have no idea what to do. All my husband says is that everything will be alright, but its total different when you are the one going through it.
@Simplyraven22406 I am a B+ blood type so my body should have no problem dealing with the baby.
