what hurts more (for mommas who had a baby already)

edited March 2011 in Giving birth
Are the contractions more painful or is crowning and the "ring of fire" and shoulders passing thru worse?

Comments

  • contractions only because i didn't feel the baby coming out
  • I had an epidural, so same as above, contractions were worse
  • Contractions ..!!
  • I felt the pushing was waaaaay worse! But my pushing lasted an hour or so, he got stuck.
  • Contractions 100%! I didn't even feel my daughter crown and I had no meds.
  • Contractions are by far the worst!!!
  • id havw to say the head crowning byt hey my son had a massive head n I had a 19yo vjj
  • Oh gosh... I wanna find a way to make my Dr give me a c-section now... or hop me up on don't pain meds as soon as contractions start...
  • I definitley plan on having an eoudurhal! At what point do most drs give it to u can u get it right away/when u want it?
  • Contractions:(
  • I went natural and I think the contractions were way worse. Good luck!
  • I had a csection with my first and it was amazing.. pain free.. I don't think my dr is going to let me have it that easy this time...lol.. I'm not looking forward to the contractions or the crowning...
  • I think the "bearing down", or the very tail end of dialation was the absolute worst! It wasn't even that it hurt, it was just intense and strong. I had an epidural but it never worked. I plan on having my daughter completely natural and drug free, I was only in labor for 3 hours with my son, and I wish that short amount of time for everyone else lol.
  • Contractions if u don't breath thro them I did 3 natural births no drugs n I was fine with my 1st I had tearing my 2nd was my biggest 9lb 12 got stuck n no tears the worst pain of all is Doin it on no sleep good night sleep b4 hand helps u control the pain
  • I was very lucky and didn't feel the contractions until I was 6 cm dilated. At the point I got the epidural and didn't feel anything else after. I'm a little nervous that this time it wont be so easy!
  • Contractions for me. Til the epidural lol
  • crowning was the only part I found unbearable. Kinda felt like someone was sticking me in the coochie with a hot poker. My doula gave me the motivation to keep going, she said "she's hurting u get her out and it will stop" LOL. then it was over and I felt great. i labored at home so it was calm and relaxed. I had no meds.
  • Contrations were worse for me but I had an epidural and only pushed for 15 minutes and didn't feel a thing.
  • Contractions. They were extremely uncomfortable. I couldn't get comfortable is what they gelt like to me, I guess I had back labor. I kept trying to resituate myself to get comfortable
  • Contractions were the worst. But the epidural is a big help. But if you don't get enough rest leading up to it it will all be miserable. I was in labor with my first for 24 hours and by the time I had her I hadn't slept for almost 48 hours by the time I had to push all I wanted to do was sleep. I had no energy.
