Having a zebra baby???? :'(

My younger cousin came to my families house today to announce she too is pregnant. It annoyed me because when I found out in Jan. That I was pregnant and told everyone she suddenly was talking about "oh wouldn't it be funny if I got pregnant too" like she couldn't handle everyone being happy for me. Im white & my BD is black but my whole family has acted extremely excited. Then after them hearing that my 19 yr old cousin is pregnant, im feeling like " oh great , so now im going to have to deal with the playing favorites with my grandma & aunt just like my mom did with all her kids." Then my aunt makes a comment to me that I am going to have a zebra baby? Like as if she was funny. I just wish I didn't have to live here with them if that's how its going to be....:'(

    Thanks! & I know im going to have a beautiful baby no matter what races my baby is!! It just hurts that all a suddenly words like that are thrown around like its now a competition between my cousin and I and more importantly it hurts ne the most because I want my baby to be extremely loved like they deserve from my family. At least I know my mother, father, & brothers would NEVER be like that to me or my baby and are EXTREMELY excited for the baby to be born to see how beautiful it will be. It just sucks cause they live 2 hours away :(

    My babies are mixed as well but only one person has said anything. But never Zebra. I've heard Uh Oh Oreo and chocolate, vanilla swirl. Lol Don't let the comments bother you, just know your baby is going to be the cutest around! :)

    @jamie77 yeah its like a whole big thing in my family. My Grandma ALWAYS favors to the a saddening point. She always favored her youngest daughters kids greatly (all of whom I live with now) The only reason I am somewhat favored out of all four of my mothers kids is because I was the 1st born grandchild. It disgusts me. I love all the children in my family regardless of what they look like or who they came from. Smh

    Some people don't think. That was so uncalled for and harsh. Your baby will be beautiful and sounds like he/she will have many people to love him/her. Don't let ignorant comments bring you down. Your aunts lucky you didn't bring out the pregnancy hormones on her! ;-)

    People use to call me that and it hurt my feelings because its rude and I wasn't even mixed with white I'm just very light ...u love ur baby and that's what matters u don't deserve to hear that u made a baby and r happy I hope she leaves u alone

    Both my kids are mixed. My first looks white and this one not sure what tone she will have. Don't let people get to you. Your baby will be here sooner plus your baby has its fathers family to love it. Keep your head up.

    That's bs my aunt is racist but puts on a front that she likes my hubby and I hear she talks about him behind her back I haven't spoken 2 her and idk what id even say. I felt like cursing her out how dare she talk about us behind her back. Sometimes u can never make your family happy when they are so opinionated. Good luck ignore the bs

    SMH......I can't stand people who speak or refer to anyone in such an ignorant way. I have 2 boys that are mixed race...black and white and as far as the world sees them they are black...period. I hate that it even matters:( but just when you think the world is beyond racsism someone throws it back in face. Stay strong and continue to rise above the ignorance.:)

    My sisters kids are mixed and her son is the coolest, honest, mellow and most popular kid in school. He is sort of the liason or mediator of the races, lol... his name is corey and they call him corey-o.... c(oreo).. lol.. nowadays its normal and acceptable, unfortunately ingnorance still exists...

    @TandTsbb yeah that's what she said, or where she got it from but I guess it just upset me because of the whole thing with my cousin and also because they've never said anything like that about the baby before and I personally didn't think it was very funny. I don't want my child to have to constantly be reminded by their own family that they are different from us because their not just white but black also...im more than sure my baby will get enough of that shit out in the real world they don't need it from their own family too :(

    My kids r mixed race (white and hispanic) my brothers kids r white and black and our kids r beautiful we both get alot of comments about mixed babies and how beautiful r kids r. I think the same thing I love their skin color and wouldnt trade them for the world!! Dont let it bother u im sure ur kids r gonna be beautiful

    I understand where your coming from @CrazyBeautifukx0 I hope I didn't make you think I too was poking fun. My bd is the only black kid in his whole town,even his mom is white. He knew he was different growing up, but he was always everyones best friend, star athlete, comedian, whatever he had a little of in him, he was the best @ it. Don't let anyone make you feel ashamed or less than what you are! Your kids will be beautiful!
