Am I the ONLY one on pregly who DOESN'T want their baby out!?????????????????

Okay so I'm currently 35 weeks 2days, and I am SO not ready for baby number 2 to get here. I have an 18 month old daughter who keeps my handsful daily and I remember DISTICTLY what labor feels like and am not looking forward to it again!!! :-( I feel like I'm in denial that in just 4 weeks and a couple days this baby will be due! I want to hold her in my arms and see her, but I am NOT looking forward to the pain/recovery of labor again. They say after you give birth that you forget the pain of labor and that's why your able to have more kids... but I still remember all of it!!! So I won't be trying any of the ways to help move my labor along, or induce anything! Anyone else feel the same?
I went into preterm labor last week and was given a shot to stop contractions, and I think that was my real wake up call... I'm just simply scared to death of delivery this time, because I know what to expect!

  • @homebirthadvocate well give me some advice to be more brave about delivery! Lol. I had a horribly painful labor with my first and after I had her my doctor told me I couldn't get preggers again.. so needless to say when she turned 9 months and I found out I was pregnant again it was a shock. Now nearly 9 months pregnant I just feel like I'm not ready for this again!

  • I'm 75/25. I am in a lot of pain now, so I want her out for that reason. However, I still don't have everything I need. Not even bottles or diapers. I'm 37+ weeks with a 5 year old who is a constant ball of energy. So to answer your question, no you are not alone. The most I've done is have sex, but that was more out of guilt than trying to induce.
Misery loves company and I have mine in my belly... LOL
  • I feel the same I want him here but I don't want the labour and pain that comes with. I am petrified :(

  • This is my first and the labor pain doesn't scare me, the thought of having a dependent does. Some days I'm ready for him to come out and other days I'm terrified of him coming out.
  • Kinda....this is my first so I'm dying to experience motherhood and see him, BUT I dnt plan on "forcing" him out unless medically necessary.

Even though my bizarre pregnancy symptoms are getting to me.lol
  • I'm anxious to lose the baby weight and finally not be pregnant. After having an 18 month old and getting pregnant so fast .I feel like I have been pregnant nonstop for 2 years! Lol. I'm not looking forward to labor again... the pain... the bleeding... I remember looking at my vag after I had my daughter and crying and telling the nurses that my pee pee looked liked a scrotum that got hacked with a butcher knife. LMAO

  • @homebirthadvocate I just worry because when everyone talks about there second baby.. they say labor is SO quick.. I'm worried I won't have time for an epidural. I want to wait it out at home as long as possible but I feel like when labor starts I will high tail it to the hospital because I'm worried the baby will pop out so fast! Is this true?
  • Lmao! Thanx for the reminder. Now I really don't wanna have her!! LOL. I had 5 years to forget the images of horror.
  • @casnleslie I know! I was loopy on pain meds after I had her and EVERY nurse that came in I would lift my gown up and say OMG! OMG! Look at my vagina!!! It looks like a bomb went off in it! Have you seen this??? LOOK ! LOOK! OMG will it ever be normal??? Ha ha ha. The nurses and doctor were cracking up.
  • Too funny!! True though. My hubby was getting tossed OJ while I was pushing. I just remember ripping him a new one and calling him a chicken. He is staying above the equator this time. LOL.

  • @homebirthadvocate well I would say I'm safe then because my first labor was 33 AWFUL hours. :\ so maybe I will be in labor longer with the 2nd.. def. Not too quick. @casnleslie. Yeah my husband is NOT allowed to look. This is his first baby... he has NO idea how nasty delivery is! I actually feel really bad for him!

  • I HIGHLY recommend reading Ina May's Guide To Childbirth. My doula told me to read it and I find the birth stories in the first half of the book extremely calming, positive, and encouraging :) I'm attempting a VBAC and REALLY hoping and wanting a drug free experience this time around and I agree with HomeBirthAdvocate that surrounding ourselves with positive encouraging thoughts AND people is a must!
  • I made a post about this same thing I want to be pregnant forever!!!! What did it for me was watching the YouTube births that was the most stupidest thing I could have ever done and now I'm terrified of the whole birth thing...

  • Sorry for the numerous post!!!
  • @mybabe oh I can't imagine... I'm not going to make my fear any worse by watching births! You are a brave woman! Although I would be curious... but NO way would I watch any birth.
  • Yeah and that was my problem I was curious I thought it would be good for me to watch that stuff but it was horrible... never again and just from watch that video I want a hysterectomy and two different types of birth control this seems like it might be some scary s*&@#
  • @mybabe LMAO I know! I def. DO not want more kids and I don't wanna go through this again... 2 is plenty.

  • I feel the same way @robinlinlee83 im jus not ready :( lol :) n im 34weeks 2days tmi wit the contractions n the losing of my mucus plug I nerves ...
  • I saw on baby center a lady's water was being broken with this long thin metal rod thingy and then i swear an ocean came out of her vag!!! It was so scary! But i kept watching the vid ...lol..
  • I'm very uncomfortable, and I still have 6 weeks to go, but I don't want her here early. IF I need pain management, I'm opting for the intra thecal. I'm hoping I won't have time for drugs though. Lol. I don't want to be induced either. I really want to feel my water break in a surprise moment. Like in the middle of the grocery store. I think it'll add to the excitement!

  • @HomeBirthAdvocate Tell me MORE! Lol. I was induced fully with my first, but went into labor naturally (sex) with my second, but my membranes were stripped both times. I'd be really estactic if it breaks while hubster and I were dancing! Seems so fun!
