Changing table? Yay or nay?

I originally planned NOT to get a changing table, but now after speaking to a few of my mommy friends; half say a changing table is necessary & the other half say it's not. How useful was the changing table for your Preggly mommies & how long did you use it for? Our nursery is upstairs so I'll have to go upstairs to the changing table lol. Tips please! :-D

    I'm not getting one! I have a waist high long dresser that I'm putting a changing pad on. $23 instead of $100!! :)

    Ehhhh. I had one with my son, rarely used it. Skipped it with my daughter, now with this one not using it again, I'm not a fan of going to one place change diapers. Its cute and all to put the stuff at n stuff, but for me imma pass on it. :)

    My apartment is small so I'm not getting one, bed couch and floor will be my changing table!

    Its not necessary, but oh so convenient! I didn't want one for the longest, but now I do! Especially if it can be versitile, like used as a dresser and such. I don't want one that just has shelves, must have drawers!

    Ok, not convenient if you have to go upstairs or across the house. We live with friends, so everything will be in our room. They don't keep the house the cleanest, and I'm tired of being the only one cleaning. So here, I would use it.

    I used one with my son just because I had it. My mil bought it. This time, my dad is making a dresser that I will just put a changing pad on. Much more convenient and will be around longer.

    Used one a few times with my first baby, then stopped. Didn't use one with my 2nd, and not going to use it with this one. I just change them on the couch or bed, whichever is more convenient at that time. If I know I'm going to be in one area of my house for a while (bedroom, living room, etc.) I just bring a small basket I use to keep changing supplies in, like diapers, wipes, diaper rash cream, etc. Simple and free! :)

    3 kids and never used or needed one. I changed baby wherever I was sitting (even on the rocking chair ottoman at first, then the floor when they were bigger and my c-sec incision was better). This time I am doing the same (my last one was 10 yrs ago) and saving the money for diapers :)

    The crib I bought comes with one. I intend on using it when I am dressing or changing baby in the his room, but if I am downstairs or in my bedroom, I will just change him where ever I am.

    I didnt have one with my first, used my bed, sofa, floor etc... with this pregnancy im getting a dresser that is just high and long enough to fit a changing pad on top. much cheaper and versitile as well. itll last them for many years.

    I'm not using one. The bed and other things will be fine for me.

    It really depends on your situation. We use ours when we are home but we have a roomate and it would be weird to change her diapers around him. When we move it will be a storage probably for her/our bathroom stuff.

    I have one in my sons room & I have used it maybe 5times & he just turned a year old! Lol I say no need to waste your money!

    If you get a high dresser you can always put a changing pad on it! Saves a lot of money!

    I didn't see a point in buying one. Just change them on a floor or couch..but my SIL is moving and she gave us hers since she doesn't need it anymore. Its nice actually. It has the drawers but I only use it maybe 50% of the time and its usually at night. So while it is nice to hav I don't see it as a nessary thing to get unless you want one

    iknow a lot of mommas who just dont see it necessary. and technically it's not a MUST have, but to me it is necessary. we have wooden floors, so to think about placing baby on the floor or in her crib to change her is unrealistic for me. and the only rooms we have upstairs are my two oldest's bedrooms, so i just have to go down the hall to her bedroom for it. but when we lived in our 3 floor house i had a changing table/dresser in bedroom and then a changing table on the level floor. it worked for me very well. especially when i ended up with 2 kids in diapers for 2 years. #-O

    I would never have bought one myself as I would have been quite happy with a changing Matt but our landlord gave us one when we moved into our flat (and also a Moses basket were very lucky he's a lovely guy) I use it everytime I change him but as we live in a flat I don't have to go far to do so. It's lovely and its convient to have all his stuff in one place and the bath part of it is fantastic but id have done just as well without it.

    I think its a waste unless you just want it to help decorate the nursery... cause really if the baby needs a new diaper in the living room are ypi going to walk back to the nursery just to change it? I know I wont.. I personally think its a waste of money

    Oooh i say they r great. We r still using ours and our youngest is 2 1/2 (we r ttc). They save ur back a lot of pain.

    I think it's super gross to change diapers all over, it's messy, you have to set the dirty diaper and wipes somewhere while you sort the baby out and it can gross out visitors who aren't used to babies, lol. Plus, you either have the hassle of going to find diapers, wipes, cream, changing pads, spare clothes, ect every time OR your house is all cluttered up, because you have that stuff stashed in every room.

    So I loved my changing table and used it until my daughter was out of diapers, mine is attached to her dresser, so I'll be using the same one this time as well. We only had one floor, so we had a changing table in her bedroom, and then I used the pack n play changing table in my room. I also loved my diaper genie, because I could keep it right by the changing table and not have to walk all the way outside to get rid of the smell.

    I'm getting a changing table dresser drawer. That way I can use it for clothes if I don't end up using it much for changing.

    Im getting one when I move her to her room cause I gey bad back pain and changing on a bed is a pain. My play and pack came with a changing table attachment but its too low but its working for now

    I didn't originally want one but glad my mother in law basically insisted on it . I did have it in the nursery but since my baby sleeps with us we never use the nursery so finally I moved it to the living room n its great! I go to the living room to do feeding n changing anyway
