  • My first appointment is Feb 24th. I don't "consider" myself HR, but I am 40 and I am overweight, but other than that I don't have any other medical issues.
  • High risk because of chronic pancreantitis, a heart condition and infertility issues. So far have developed hypertension and gestational diabetes in this pregnancy (which is my first). I still have 18 wks to go, so I'm doing whatever I can to take care of myself and my little dude.
  • I am 12weeks today and I have had 2 high risk pregnancies and both babies were born at 36 weeks...healthy and left the hospital 2 days later...this is my third High risk. I have gestational diabetes already and I am 12 weeks along.....I have had several Ultra sounds done to check On baby.....What the doctors do for your pregnancy is up to how you handle it and how baby is doing.....Every high risk is different.... But dont worry cause the docs will see you as they see fit and they will watch out for you and baby....the important part is they know you are high risk and they will take the necessary action to protect the both of you.....
  • I am high risk. three weeks ago I was diagnosed with super induced preeclampsia. I spent two weeks in the hospital and now only because they got my blood pressure under control and I have two other kids at home they released me to extensive outpatient. I have to go to the hospital two times a week and each time I have to have blood work, ultrasounds, and non stress tests, plus consult with the maternal fetal medicine high risk team. I'm 29 weeks and had to speak with the neonatal specialist about early delivery and what to expect. No matter what I will b induced at 34 weeks, but if my blood pressure goes up again they will have to take him sooner. This is all really inconvenient and it really sucks but I got to do what I have to do. I lost a baby last year because I should have been taken off of my hypertension medication and I wasn't. it was an extremely tough time and I dread going through that again.
  • I'm high risk due to a preexisting blood condition. So far, no problems, but they're monitoring me pretty closely. I'm only 8 weeks, so we'll see what happens.
  • I'm now starting my twice a week testing until the baby is born. I'm almost 32 weeks.
  • @mommy826 I had preeclampsia with my twins & was in & out of labor every 10 days starting at 22 weeks. I ended up staying in the hospital for 3 weeks & had the boys at 34 weeks due to seizures. My body is overcompensating this time & my blood pressure is dropping this pregnancy. I'm a paramedic too, & they already took me out of the field, & I'm only 14 weeks. The Drs will bring you in for scans as needed. I was in the hospital so much they didn't need to bring me in. I'm not going to go full-term with this one either. Are the able to manage your BP with meds?
  • I am high risk because i have high blood pressure and ashtma. This is my second pregnancy but i had a missed misscarriage with my first pregnancy so i am nervous about this one . I am just 4 weeks and i lost my first at 6 weeks so Im praying it goes good
  • I'm high risk because of kidney stone issues spent time in the hospital 2 different times with my second preg this time I'm also hr for delivery because I cracked my tailbone less than a year ago
  • I was high risk wit my first bby do to my heart n hbp i had her at 37 weeks do to low amniotic fluid i think wit my second i high risk once again
  • I'm high risk because i have sua, single umbilical artety. Only one artery going thru the cord instead of two it just means baby may not be getting all the oxygen and nutrients he needs and i get a us every 4 weeks in the dot i don't know when i will be going every 2 weeks they will let me know
  • This is my second pregnancy 13w2d and I am high risk for preeclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and preterm labor. I'm 24 now but I gave birth to my son when I was 18, he was 15 weeks early delivered via c-section. He was 1lb. 7oz. only 12 in. long. He spent three months in the hospital but now is a very strong and healthy 5 year old. The only long term problems are vision, asthma and autism (may or maybe not be because of early birth). I spent a week in icu and my heart and lungs began to fill with fluid. There was a big chance neither one of us would make it but we did!

The doctors told me I will more than likely deliver early again this time and I am already having mild contractions (like with my son) but the goal is to get me past the second trimester and farther into my third. I'm excited for another little one, but scared this one will be too hard on me.
  • I'm high risk I had two miscarriages b4 my son n when I was pregnant with my son I had toxscemer poision so i had to get induced at 38 weeks (in labor for 3 days n had virginia birth) this pregnancy I hope everything is alright
  • I'm high risk n I also had 2 miscarriages. 10 weeks tomorrow
  • I am 10 weeks today with my second child. I have idiopathic thrompocytopenic purpura, a platelet disorder. I've had a spleenectomy, with no results to make me any better. I had to be puton steroids and have ivig with my first. I'm scared my platelets will get low again and ill have to go through it all again. With my first i had a 50/50 chance of hemmoraging and making it out ok...
  • I'm high risk overweight and bp
  • I'm high risk because I had to have cervical cerlage and put on bed rest.
  • Im highrisk due to high bmi. Ive had 2 sonss both induced over 41 weeks. Second son had a problem with his windpipe which was corrected we he he was 1. Both were born naturally and have had no other problems and other than 1 or extra ultrasounds to check size of babies snd test for gestational diabetes I had no extra appointments
  • High bp and overweight
  • Depending on where you from pregnacys under age 18 and after 35 are high risk. It depends on your doctor how many scans you will have and how many visits you have. There are different reasons why someone is high risk so some might need more care and some less.
