do you think this excercise is ok?

I'm 37/38 weeks and haven't done any excercise most of this pregnancy, aside from the occasional pregnancy yoga DVD and working as a waitress/server at a high volume restaurant.
I've had no complications whatsoever.
We bought an elliptical machine today and get it Monday. Will it be ok to get on it for light excercise? Like on the lowest settings just enough to get my heart rate up? Then maybe the yoga for a cooldown? @homebirthadvocate
my doc is out until right before my next appointment on Thursday I'm going to ask him also

  • I haven't used mine since becoming pregnant because my heart rate always goes above 140 which is a no no.

  • Yeah this is fine just monitor your heart rate and only go slowly and at a pace that is comfortable. Im 37 weeks and am still going to the gym. Even climbed a small mountain last week. Just take your time and do what is comfortable, remembering to stay hydrated.
  • @blueberrysmom 140? My doctor never said anything about that o_O I asked him earlier in my pregnancy about working out. I can almost guarantee my heart rate gets about that in the middle of a shift at work :/ today was football and our air conditioning doesn't really work my face was so red I had to sit in the cooler for about 10 mins
