legal advice....help please
So tonight at work i hit a guy for yelling derogatory stuff at me and he is pressing charges. This will be my first offense so the cops said i will probably get probation. With probation will i still be able to go Japan with my husband in February?

Probation... You can travel no problem. I would fight the charge and they'll most likely drop it.

Idk how to tell my husband!! Advice
Probation is kind of like saying... We'll be watching you and if you do it again in "this amount of time" you'll be in BIG trouble.
Similar to getting in trouble at work and they put you on a 30/60/90 day probation. If you mess up again during this time theyll fire you.. if you don't you're all good.
With parole you have to go and check in with a parole officer and they micro manage everything you do. Depending on the crime you may have to stay in compliant. Like drug and alcohol tests. Court ordered Anger management and also registering where you live.
If you violate any compliant order you go directly back to jail for violation of parole.
Now you can violate probation as well but you have to really really f-up to do jail time. Usually you clean streets, feed the homeless or do city construction.
I would fight it and dramatize it like you were the victim...
I doubt if you even get anger management classes.
This will probably blow over....
Summary: means you can travel, no checking in and no nothing. You just can't get into any trouble.
Formal: No traveling without permission, drug test, possible fines, classes, community services. Checking in every month. Very supervised.
Did the cops come? Are you moving to Japan or just visiting?
Sorry i havent been on with this trip to Japan and all irs been hectic.
@excitedforoctober he said some pretty hurtful things and wouldnt shut his damn mouth so i helped him.out n did it for him. And no he never pressed charges.
