***update*** Please help! subchorionic hemorrhage

edited December 2012 in Pregnant
I'm 10wks. I had a lil bit of blood so I went to the er they did an ultrasound baby looked great but I have a small hemorrhage where the placenta attached or trying to attach tp the uterine wall. I have had 3 prior csections. It was explained to me that bleeding out helps as a release no bleeding at all is best but if it bleeds upward along the rest of the placenta it could cause the placenta to separate from the uterine wall and I could lose the baby.
Has anyone been through this

  • @soon2b3 Praying! Keep your head up!
  • I had this and bled several times from around 10 weeks to 16 weeks. I now have a healthy happy three year old from that pregnancy! pray you have the same outcome! pelvic rest is a must!!!
  • I went through this when I was 9 weeks I bled til I was 14 weeks. It's very scary... I am now 37 weeks and had no problems since. I can't tell u not to worry cuz I did. But my Dr told me that it is pretty common
  • When mine happened I was at work and passed a palm size clot and had another huge clot right under the placenta I bled it out. My Dr just said no sex til the bleeding stopped. Good luck I hope everything goes well for u.
  • Yes I had this its called placenta previa and u need to be on bed rest NO SEX and it should heal itself. My son is 2 months old now
  • Yep I was put in pelvic rest and told it increases risk of mc but I have a healthy 4 yo. Placenta previa is when the placenta covers the cervix

    Thanks so much ladies this is very scary to me but I will admit god has given a sense of peace through it all
  • I'm sorry :(... I hope it heals itself like the other girls. Lots prayers for you.
  • I had a subchorionic hemorrhage. My case wasn't successful. I will be praying for you. Keep us updated and relax as much as possible (:
  • That's exactly what it was called I couldn't remember the name. @mrsrobbins6113
    it wasnt bad just some pink blood and not much. Baby looked great and it was small. I haven't had anymore blood. If u don't mind sharing can u tell me about your situation.
  • The day I got my bfn I started bleeding. Bright red blood. I was 5w6d. I made my bf take me to the er but since I was sk early it was hard to tell anything. They checked my levels and made my appointment with my ob for the next morning. They did an ultrasound and saw a sac so they said they wanted to see me in a few more days to see about a heart beat. They told me to rest as much as possible until then. The next time I went I saw my baby's beautiful heart beat. It was healthy and strong and growing on schedule. That's when she found my hemorrhage. I hadn't had anymore bleeding. But she said I needed to be on bed rest until the it went away and that most correct themselves by between sixteen and twenty weeks. So I rested and had some light spottibg and brown blood off and on for the next week. They told me it was good because brown was the hemorrhage correcting itself. I had another ultrasound and she told me it had gptten significantly smaller and my baby was great. After a while I started bleeding red again and called the ob. He told me to come in so I did and he did a pelvic exam. He said my cervix was closed so it was most likely the hemorrhage correcting itself again. When I left I immediately started having this terrible cramping pain. I went home slept with a heating pad and when that didn't help took a bath. When I got out of the bath tub I couldn't move because the pain was so bad and had to call my bf for help getting dressed. I told him I had to go to the er. It wasn't until I was in the car and could watch the clock that o realized I was having contractions at five minutes apart. I was ten weeks pregnant. They took me into the back and took some blood. Strangely the place was empty. As I waited for my blood results the pain eased up. The doctor came back and told me that my levels had gone from 29,000 to 9,000. I lost my baby. They did an ultra sound to see if it was still there but it wasn't. They kept me over night to do a d&c to avoid infection. I passed my baby early that morning. I don't know that it was the hemorrhage that caused it. Maybe it just wasn't meant to be. I hope your baby stays healthy! Just please listen to the doctors. Especially if they put you on bed rest!
  • Omg I am so sorry. Mine doesn't seem that severe and er doctor didn't seem too worried and said no lifting and still handle everyday life just take it easy. My son is 15 months old so its a lil difficult not to pick him up. But I'm trying to avoid it as much as possible. I'm 10w2d now
    I had VERY light pink blood and only when I would wipe and no more at all now does this seem anything like what u had?
    @mrsrobbins6113
  • @soon2b3 yeah in the lighter days it was pink or brown. Its more common for people to go on to havw healthy pregnancies and beautiful children after a subchorionic hemorrhage (: you'll be fine! Just do your best!
  • I had one at 13wks, I now have a healthy 13no old :) It definitely is scary!
  • @excitedforoctober thanks! So reassuring
  • I had one around 17 weeks. I lost a lot of blood in the middle of the night. It puts a woman at increased risk for placental abruption and pre-term labor. Which is what happened to me (docs couldn't say that the s/h was the reason for ptl, but they couldn't identify any other reason). I delivered my son at 29/6. If you have any strong contractions or mild contractions that won't stop, go straight to the er!!!
  • Hows your son?

    My last son was born at 35/5 I went into full labor and didn't even know. :/ I've had 3 csections already as well so my drs prepared for ptl but I doubt >30wks
    @math_mommy
  • I go to the doctor today at 1230 I will keep everyone posted

  • Thanks for asking. He is in the 90th percentile for weight and height and he has a better immune system that his full-term sister. He did have significant speech/language comprehension delays and small gross and fine motor delays. But we've been doing speech therapy for almost a year and he's in a special education preschool since September. Now, he is almost caught up! (I actually have an appointment tomorrow to reevaluate his IEP because he has met or exceeded all his goals for the year!)

    How old is your 35-weeker? Does he have any complications from his prematurity?
  • Some breathing issues at first but otherwise all on time thank god.
    @math_mommy
  • My Dr did an ultrasound and said he didn't see what the er claimed to see. Wth? All that stress for nothing??
  • That's wonderful!!! After having my son so early, I was just hoping to make it to 35 with my daughter... (little did I know that she would fight like hell to stay inside)
  • My ob said only 25% of s/h can be seen via ultrasound. After baby is born they can tell by looking at the placenta
  • Woww!! Thats awesome!
  • That's great news!
