Old post!

I need help finding a post, about dry or split ends. I though I've seen one. I just cut 6 inches off, I still have a lot of split ends and reply dry dry damaged hair. Even my hair lady said it was dry to the scalp, I asked for recommendations but she didn't help or say anything:( I only straighten my hair or curl it on weekends not on a daily basis. However every Dt when I shower I wash it, I can not for any reason not wash it. I use my Babyliss straightner and blow dryer. Please help.

  • I need help too. My hair is so dry & damaged. I've got a few spots on the top of my head that are only & few inches long due to it just breaking off the other day.
  • do you use a heat protector before using heat on it? Shampooing everyday is also drying it out.I shampoo every other.Try using a dry shampoo inbetween washes.try a deep conditioning balm like biolage let that sit on for a few hours while your lounging around at home than rinse.Hope that helped.Im a hairdresser so if u have anyother questions...
  • O and my fav product for broken hair is the redken cat protein leave in.It def helped with my breakage a few yrs ago.mayb you can adk your hairdresser about it
  • Try finding a shampoo and conditioner for dehydrated hair. Also, use heat protecting products for your hair and apply before using any kind of blow dryer or flat iron or curling iron.
There is a lot of hair treatments you can use, you just need to look for them. You can try looking around in a local beauty supply? Oh, and remember to get your ends trimmed every so often, to keep your hair as healthy as possible. Im not a hair dresser, so maybe getting some tips from @momeetob1 would be best.
  • @wilsomom mine is too, I have a lot of random spots were its short from it breaking.
@momeetob1 thank you! I use Redken shampoo and conditioner, I use the chi heat protector. I also cleanse it once every two weeks sometimes longer, a deep conditioner once a week. I'll have to try the redken protein. thank you!
@perly :) lol I've tried so many things nothing seems to help. I think I need vitamins or something. It recently started falling off a lot like I literally have a few bald spots. I could be over reacting my friend said she didn't see any bald spots, I feel like I feel them.
  • @firsttimemom how often do you change shampoo's? i find that when i use the same shampoo for a long time, my hair changes. Depending on what the shampoo does for you, if Im using a hydrating shampoo, my hair will be too greasy after using it for long. Or if its for color protection, sometimes it won't be so shiny. I don't know if its true, but i've heard that changing shampoo's every so often is also good. Vitamins should help as well
  • @perly I change it every time I run out usually I use redken,Joico is my fav leaves my hair nice sometimes I didn't even need conditioner, even then its so dry and ugly:( I think I do need vitamins... Would you happen to know what kind of vitamins are good? I heard prenatal but my friend said only certain ones help but doesn't know which one.
  • @perly. ys vitamins biotin is great for skin hair n nails.I always have few kinds of shampoos in the shower and im always switching it up.but it is possible that a moisturing shampoo will cause hair to b overly moisturied and look oily.
@firsttimemom oh wow you use all good stuff.if you feel like you need a shine n some color try redken shades clear gloss demipermanent color.I do it every few months to brighten n shine my hair

Good question! My hair is not dry BC like @momeetob1 said I do not wash everyday and use dry Shampoo in between really helps. And I use extra mosturizer after my shampoo and u leave it in for two minutes while you're in there. I do that once week instead of my regular conditioner it makes the hair very smooth and shinny. And I take biotin everyday. But I'm trying to grow my hair out any advice from @ momeetob1?
  • @momeetob1 is there a certain hair treatment that can be used to help @firsttimemom's hair. I don't have that problem, but i would like to have something up my sleeve if i ever need to :)
  • @perly thank you!
@momeetob1 I know that's why I don't get why my hair is so damaged. I only dye it like once or maybe twice a year. I'm like stressing out. I love my hair to cut 6 inches and it still be horrible. I try to cut it often every two to three months. Nothing, zip, Nada. Biotin it is!!!
  • @perly ya I already mentioned to firsttimemom that redken extreme cat treatment helps tons for dry split ends.If ypu evr have that prob ypu should try it.but after having babys ypur hair goes threw so much changes frm ur hormones.I swear my hair was fallin out so much I was balding. but a year later my hairs finally being normal.your prego now arent you? during pregnqncy your hair will b sooo.full n shiny:)
  • @momeetob1 yeah Im pregnant now so i haven't been able to dye my hair. I'll look for that treatment so i can try it out. I usually always have highlights all over my head, so i need to keep up with my hair so it won't be so damaged from the bleach.
  • @momeetob1 Do hot oil treatments help? I only wash every other day but mine's still dry & split. I've also lost sooo much hair, I hate it. When I was young I had an extremely thick pony tail, now my hair is so thin. :(
