  • What a relief :D so should i tell them?
  • Im 4 wks 2 days and im telling my boss tomorrow only bc I have to I work in a psyciatric rehab with teenagers sometimes they get aggressive n we have to restrain them if it wasn't for that safety reason I wouldn't tell them. U might want to though if u start getting really sick or something otherwise don't say anything :) I would keep mine from my work for a couple months if I could just my opinion though.
  • I think once i tell my mom am going to tell them because am around food so am aleays naitious and vomiting
  • Well if u do something dangerous towards the pregnancy and its part of ur job got to tell right away...and of course they can't fire u for being pregnant
  • I think the performance review prior to telling them is great advice. I was almost 3 months when I started showing and felt I should tell my employer, I was fired a month later without reason. When I talked to an attorney she said it was basically my word against theirs, because I didn't have proof that pregnancy was the reason for my termination. I don't want to scare you, just trying to be real with you...
  • Also if u go for a job interview they cannot ask if u have baby plans. That is not their buisiness
  • Thing is they can't fire for being pregnant but they may find somehing else to try so good advice to get performance review
  • Nope. Its illeagal
  • So they won't fire me because am pregnant but they could make a excuse
  • I lost my job when I went on maternity leave with my daughter- they told me I didn't have a job to come back to & wanted me to write a letter of resignation, but I refused. I tried to fight it, but state & federal anti-pregnancy descrimination laws only apply to companies with a certain number of employee's, so it depends on where you live & work. I am in Oregon & because there were less than 25 employee's at this company, there was NOTHING they could do but take a formal complaint... side note; they did the same thing to one of my co-workers a year later...good luck, sweetie... but losing my job was a total blessing in disguise for me; its not the end of the world! =)
  • Question,
I applied with the gov before I found out. Im positive I have the job the employer has already told 2 ppl that work with ger that I kno that she is hiring me. However gettung on with the gov takes forev. Im almost 3.5 months n starting to show. Plus I will have to give my current employer 2 week notice. Should I tell her right after she offers the job? Ill b on a 6 month probation there n no paid matenity. I kno she could fire me for "another reason" Scared to make the wrong decision bc I get 3 months paid maternity at my job. But the new job is more money and a def career. Any suggestions?
