upset stomach

edited March 2011 in Pregnant
Am I the only one w an upset stomach? So many things talk about constipation...I def don't have that problem. And I haven't even taken my prenatal vitamins, which have a lovely added stool softened....
God its so unpleasant but figured this is the best place to talk about it! Girls am I the only one?!

  • Not the only one, i am defo more regular than normal! Better than constipation and piles tho, whoop whoop for poop! lol
  • Ditto this pregnancy I haven't vomited yet but every day I have loose bowels lol
  • When are you due
  • I have an upset stomach constantly. Not constipated not heartburn. More like a sour tummy. I've reduced myself to soups crackers, jello, fruit, Popsicles.... ghhhaa it sucks everything I eat makes my belly hurt and some things make me so sick I end IP puking later.... over this! Morning sickness is over and I'm craving things and want to eat but every thing gives me a belly ache... I'm 13 weeks.
  • My stomach has been feeling sick the later few days. I hadn't had any morning sickness until today. Freaking horrible cause I had no morning sickness with my first baby.
  • I was so sick w my daughter. Constant vomiting. Actually didn't stop vomiting til one month before I had her! Hell!

But this pregnancy I've vomited once and am very nauseas but this pregnancy is diarrhea! !! Gross I kno but just being honest! Ugghh. Im 7.5 weeks
  • I too have had an upset tummy, I'm only 2 months. Kinda TMI but what the hay, what are here for...the other night we ordered pizza and about 30min later I had diahhrea. I was also kinda weirded out since most preggos get constipated.
  • I get the sour stomach baaaad. Not the other problem. My #2 is stuck. But my tummy downright hates me most of the time. Frequently turns into heartburn or even reflux.

So I looked up natural cures for sour stomach. I found aloe vera juice. I tried it and it is a god send. Only problem is that after I tried it I found out it MIGHT cause an electrolyte imbalance that MIGHT cause bladder contractions that MIGHT cause premature labor.

When I spoke to my midwife about it she never even heard of aloe vera juice. I explained that I had found sites claiming that the juice is totally safe and other sites explaining the above. She said she would look it up and call me if she had a definitive opinion either way. But that the one little glass I drank (it was maybe 6 oz) couldn't hurt me. She hasn't called me, and I suppose she is as lost as I am.

So on the nights its really bad, I drink a little juice. If I don't drink a lot of it or too frequently I'm sure I'll be fine. I bet the studies were done in the people following the twice a day recommended dosage. Or people using aloe vera gel, which is different from the juice. The scary study referenced gel a lot.
