  • I get maternity leave, but i dont get paid :(
  • Thats what I'm afraid of, I leave in 3weeks, I'm a CNA but I'm not sure
  • Speak to your hr dept. Depends on the state you live in. I live in California, we get 4 weeks before birth, 6 weeks after if you give birth vaginally or 8 weeks if you have a cesarean.
  • slightly better here in Singapore, all fully paid for 16 weeks. 8 weeks borne by company, remaining 8 weeks company to claim from the relevant authorities.
  • @2angels ok thank you
  • @2angels- Actually in CA we get 4 weeks before, 6 weeks after (8 for C-section) for pregnancy disability leave AND an additional 6 for paid family leave. So altogether 16 weeks off (18 for C-section). This is all partially paid. Just a heads up so you can take all the time you deserve off!
  • Thanks @csamcharlie I forgot to mention the "baby bonding" time off.
  • You normally don't get paid for maternity leave unless your work has some kind of short term disability pay. Mine has an insurance company call UNUM and they will pay me short term disability once I have the baby, its only 60% of my normal pay but its better than nothing. I would check with your HR department to see if they have anything for short term disability insurance.
  • Thanks !
