Early ultrasound? When is it too soon?

I had a transvag u/s today by a doc I went to see for a 2nd opinion regarding my low progesterone level. He did the u/s but was unable to really find anything...said, "well I'm not feeling very confident in my u/s skills today." Thought he could have found the yolk sack but thought it looked more like a cyst on my ovary vs a sack? He scheduled me for a regular u/s tomorrow. But I am only 6w3d pregnant....isn't this too soon to see anything either way? Also, I have a 35 day cycle and ovulate closer to day 21 so even though I'm 6w3d I feel the development of the baby would be more like 5w3d. I keep getting bunk doctors who don't want to be strait forward with me. Does anyone know anything about these ultrasounds? How worried should I be that he did not find anything today?

    Hey it really is too early to see anything! I had an us last week and they didn't see a sac or anything but confirmed I was pregnant through a beta test. Now I just have to go back to make sure my hcg levels are going up!

    Thanks for the comments guys...its amazing how reassuring a few comments can be! This is so scary! Is anyone else constantly freaking out about miscarriage! Ugh!

    I saw a fetal pole and a heartbeat at 6+2. But if your dates are off or if you ovulated late it could be too early. Good luck to you!

    Yes!!! I had one on Oct... so any cramp or loss of symptoms makes me crazy!!!

    I had one at 6w3d and saw a sac and when she amplified it as large as she could you could make out a baby and a heartbeat of 120bpm saw the heartbeat clearly but was very hard for the machine to read it took a few tries. Good luck!

    Good news! Still preggers :) My progesterone level has gone from 4.7 to 36, HCG level doubled in 48 hours, but ultrasounds are just measuring me behind at 5w2d, according to my last period I was 6w5d, but this explains why they had a hard time seeing much on the u/s. They did see the gestational sack and yolk sack, but no fetal pole yet...too early they said, no worries! Thank God! We are celebrating tonight!

    Good, at 6w they'd be able to see the heart beat, and its only a 4% chance of mc when they do. Congrats.
