My doctor told me the stress of not having a cigarette is worse then just having one every now and then. However I dis cut way back and I got an electronic cigarette which is just water vapor and helps alot. When I do smoke a real cigarette I try not to inhale all of it and I just taste it!
I smoked for 15 years and when I found out I was pregnant, I finished my pack of cigarettes and quit cold turkey the next day. I didn't have withdrawls because I wasn't quitting for me, I was quitting for that baby living inside me. I've tried to quit so many times before but it was so easy when you realize your doing it for someone else and not yourself.
i am still smoking, i wish i could quit but i just can't. i have also been told that if quitting is too stressful just to cut down so i have done that instead. I just hope that nothing goes wrong because i would never be able to forgive myself.
I finished My pack & then quit cold turkey. I had smoked for 15 years. If ever is a good time to quit now is, if u can't quit for the health of your helpless baby you will never quit & will always smoke. You can do it, your Dr. Would much rather see u quit, you just have to put your baby first & make your very first smart parenting decision... you got this girl!
You can do it newmummy_5! Do it for that helpless little baby that your growing! I'm not gonna lie, I think about it all the time and I feel my baby kick and I realize why I'm doing it. BE STRONG!
Omg I'm not judging or anything I'm just telling from my experience I seen this lady who was so far along in her pregnancy that her baby might slide out and she was smoking I was so shocked but that's cause I live in a small town and everybody is traditional but as long as ur doctor doesn't have a problem wit it and ur baby will be ok why not keep ur self calm
Quitting cold turkey isn't as easy for everyone. Yes smoking while pregnant is very very bad, but stress is one leading cause of miscarriages so...it depends on how much you smoke to begin with and how stressful this time came be ....I say its up.to each mother to decide. Not going to lie, I have had one when I have three or four people yelling done my through about what ever
i might just finish my pack and refuse to buy more but i've also heard about quitting after the 1st 3 months and that it can be really dangerous because by then the baby is ammune.. is this true and would it be better for me to now quit over a couple of weeks rather than just quit straight away? please know if you know anything.
@newmummy_5 you do what you feel like is right in your heart. I was smoking a pack a day for 15 years and quit cold turkey no problem. instead of focusing on the next smoke focus on babies heartbeating.
see what i mean "ohh honey smoke cigg its ok.....will stop....someday wen we are ready..oh by the way i am 20 weeks prego...." lol...oh but if some one posted about weed all of you will attack lol..
@nicksmommy I am involved in the other weed converstion. This is a cigarette conversation about someone who was looking for advice. That's what we are trying to provide. Lets stick with the discussion we started with.
arent you attacking now? its like anything everybody has their own struggles and imperfections, don't attack other people for theirs when you have your own.
This is my third pg first i quit smoking prob bour 4 months pregnant cut back finally quit then i started again after my sin was born second time i was two month pg when i quit was making me sick once again i started again after my second son i was so mad at my self..this time i wanted to quit beforei found out i was pg then i stopped cold turkey i kbow i wont start again as i really wanted to stop...u suggest trying cold turkey and if u get the craving to have one cgew some gum or something like that hope thats helps.
Ha! OK good! Do you have a Cracker Barrel Restaurant where you live? (I'm from the south so I have no clue how far they go) They have these soft peppermint stick that are really good to eat when you want to smoke and they freshen your breath!
Smoked cigarettes only for 6 years (never marijuana) and quit cold turkey and didn't even think twice. It all comes down to the sacrifices you can, or are willing to make for the health and well-being of the child! Best wishes.
The baby does go through nicotine withdrawls if you smoke until the end. I was told by ob nurse you will have a crabby baby at first until the baby gets over the withdrawals. Im not judging I smoked I know how had it is to quit.
either way i dont care if you gals smoke or not...not my baby not my body...any how...:))) good nite ladys..over this subject peace and love to all my fellow prego wome;)
