After having my son in April of 2010...with an emergency c section, my wound healed nicely but itches like crazy and sometimes hurts? is that normal? anybody else have that?
Mine doesnt so much itch but it def does hurt sometimes to the point where i cant stand it but i think mine might've itched the newer it was i had my first in '05 an my second in '09 an now ill hav my 3rd in october
I wud think its like ne scar that itches wen its healing an well my Dr told me to make sure ur not having a baby one after another so it has more time to heal so i think thats y my Dr didnt seem concerned he said it look good an my mom told me not to worry either but i got cut with a knife wen i was 6 i was doin somthing i shudnt of an i hav the same problems lol
@tifferzz09 yea we were ganna wait to have another kid after this one...but it happened that I got preg again. im 18 wks and my son is 11 months old so I dont have much time to heal. my other c section is in august...
Im sure thats fine he didnt really go into detail bout how long u shud wait so as long as ur dr aint worried u shudnt either an this baby def wasnt planned either but we're excited either way how far long r u?
After having my daughter in 2006 my scar itched and hurt its even worse now that I had my second daughter in 2010 and am now 28 weeks pregnant with my third. Every doctor I've talked to, in the states and here in Germany says its normal.
I had my first emergency c-sec in 2007 then my second in 2009.. I suffer really bad with pain in mine sometimes it kills and sometimes it burns and stings its horrible.. due to have my 3rd in Aug
@meaganbratton thank u so much for the info! makes me feel like im not the only one out there with a prob with this...hope all goes good for u! @MummyNumber3 im so sorry to hear that u suffer so bad! dont ever want another mother going through what I do...we sometimes got no choice. hope all goes better for u and congrats with ur preg
Thank you @allie8895 congrats on yours too.. this is my last as I'm getting sterilized coz don't think my body will be able to take it after this one lol
@baby_gurls greatest luck to u and ur baby!! lucky u ur almost done yay! @MummyNumber3 yea my doc told me my limit was 3...since ill b having c sections with all and my body is too weak for more.
@allie8955 I know that's what I was told.. I'm only young (22) and 3 is enough and it is my own option to get sterilized but I don't think my body could handle another pregnancy and don't wanna risk it.. if I want children in the future there's always the option of adopting so that's good enough for me
I had an emergency c-section in August 2009, my first 3 were drug free vaginal delivery. But, the c-section I was sick with H1N1 & pneumonia, my lungs ended up blowing out, so all the air that was in my lungs filled my body cavity up to where I ballooned to almost 200lbs, I'm normally 105-120 depending on the season & my cycle. My incision blew open, wouldn't knit together, so they had to use a wound vac to heal it from the inside out which took months (I was in a medically induced coma, then couldn't move any part of my body for a month after I woke up) so it didn't really effect day to day activities. I was on heavy doses of Fentanyl painkillers (stronger than Morphine) but I still had stabbing pains in my abdomen. To this day I get pains around the scar, the scar itself is numb but around it is tender. I tell my husband all the time how it bothers me, he said his ex-wife had a c-section with their son, she had some pain for awhile too (but she had another kid before their son born c-section as well) but this was my only one, maybe its because it burst open. But now reading about others having this maybe its a c-section thing. My sister in law had a hysterectomy 15yrs ago, he said her scar hurts often as well. But you do get your muscles cut into, so that's probably why. I am hoping for a VBAC this time, since I am due on my yoiungest 2nd birthday I am a candidate since they recommend you wait at least 18mos for a VBAC. I hope you the best!
@MummyNumber3 yea I hear ya...I'm only 23 and my body already can't take it anymore it sucks. me and my husband love kids and he also mentioned adopting after we can't take it anymore. I'm glad he's on the same page as me about adoption
@MrsDelRae oh wow girl! I can't compare my story to urs! i thought mines was bad...I was in labor for 2 days and they told me i still had time to go into natural delivery (and i was 2 weeks overdue already) big mistake..they waited too long and noticed my son was too big for me to push and was turned wrong. So i had to have a c section...it took me 3-4 months to recover and i felt like a was a balloon as well. but yea my wound is also numb...and itches like crazy sometimes. c-section is a big time surgery and many people don't realize that!! they cut through ur nerves hello!! I was hoping for a VBAC with this one but my Doc told me my chances are too high for that better to b safe to just do repeat c section whatever it takes to get my little man out that's all that matters to me! greatest luck to you sweetie...i hope things go better for you this time!
@allie8955 yeah my partner agrees too.. so its all good, his also gonna have a vasectomy so I deffo feel supported in ny decision.. I had a horrible experience with my first c-sec where they had to send me to sleep in order to get him out ASAP as he was no longer breathing and I was awake with my youngest and it was just horrible, the whole experience agen freaked me out.. the epidural took numerous attempts to get in and I was hysterical in the end so completely dreading it this time! Lol I've got an appointment with the specialist to see if I'm able to have anything to keep me calm. @MrsDelRae wow you deffo had a bad experience I think I would of freaked out like a mofo..!!
Thanks so much @allie8955 & @MummyNumber3! It was scary, I went to the doctor because I was getting sicker & weaker each day (it had been a week), he took x-rays of my lungs, came in shaky, took my hands & told me I had to go to the E.R. NOW. I went in, they took me in the back immediately, hooked me up to blood (severely anemic) then called air-evac, sent me to another hospital since the one I was at had their maternity across the street, got to the other hospital, they hooked me up to even more blood, my blood was still super low (I was a 4.2 when I went in, supposed to be 10-12), then they came in telling me they couldn't prolong it any longer, had to give me an emergency c-section. Wheeled me into the OR, told me they were sedating me, I would go to ICU for a few days to get IV antibiotics in me then I would go home, they thought about 5dys. They knocked me out before they took her out, I begged to see her & hear her first cry. They told me no. I woke up 2mos later in yet another hospital; who actually saved my life as the one who delivered my baby was giving up. I literally had hours left to live. I went to Mayo Clinic, they got me stabilized within the first day of being there. I spent another month there, then went to a specialty clinic to get weaned off the vent & trach for a week, then to a in patient physical rehab for 3wks to learn to walk, dress, shower, etc again. I have nerve damage in the outer part of my left leg&top of my left foot so I have a custom brace I have to wear with shoes. No more heels (I used to live in heels), no flip flops. I have regained some mobility, but not much in the leg/foot, but it was a nerve somehow hit during surgeries (perhaps the chest tubes to drain the air/fluid/blood from my lungs) then the paralytic drugs to keep me from pulling the breathing tube out while I was sedated may have crept into my nerve path. I developed Lupus from the blood transfusions so I am on blood thinners for life. I am 27, this all happened right before I turned 26, I was in CCU (a step more intense than ICU, means critical care unit) for my birthday with a trach, vent, not able to even move my fingers, everything had atrophied from being in the coma. I only use oxygen at night while I sleep now, I don't need my walker or cane anymore, I am off a ton of the meds I was on. So I have come a long way. Just have faith everything will be okay, you can do it!
Mine never hurts bad, but once in a while I get a sharp pain and its always numb but now That in pregnant it itches like crazy but its normal with scar tissue. Its the stretching causing microscopic tears and them healing not really something to be concerned about the itching is good actually since it IS healing
@MrsDelRae God bless your strong heart!! U definitely did go through a lot! and ur story has touched me...thank you!. It's truly a touching and inspiring story and makes me more stronger! @graciensmommy yea that's what my Doc told me so I guess i shouldn't be too worried...but I wish there was something I can make the itching stop sometimes... @QueenBee723 I did try Aveeno...did help couple times...people told me to try Vaseline so I'll b trying that!
I had an emergency c-section in 06. I have a condition where my body produces to much scar tissue so my scars all end up raised and ugly. Anyway even a year after it still itched and was sore with certain clothing. But after awhile u wont even kno it's there. Just give it time
@missthiggy hopefully it goes away...fingers crossed. but my skin around the scar is numb...makes it even worse. and my aunt who also had a c section with her kiddo told me her scar was numb for 15 years!! (i hope mines wont)
Mine is still numb at times. Trying rubbing vitamin e on it to help with scarring. U can get it at walmart or anywhere i imagine. That's what doctors have always recommended for me. I wudnt trade mine for anything! Makes me think of my son everytime i see it. He also thinks its cool too time is the best healer for them tho. Hopefully urs is like mine and is low enuf u can't see it in a bikini bottom. If not wear it with pride its a mommy scar and some wud kill for one. We are lucky!! good luck!
@missthiggy thank you hun for the encouragement! my little one is still young to understand mommies scar but he always touches it and say "boo" lol It also reminds me of that day he was born. the most important day of my life my scar is right on the bikini line so it hides it most of the time.
