Its getting closer and closer to my due date and the thought of my little bundle of joy arriving excites me! But the thought of labor terrifies me! Any helpful advice to make this stage in my pregnancy a little less scary??? <:/

  • Is this your first baby and when are you due? The best advice really is that every baby and labour is different and is normally never as bad as you think it's going to be. Just try and focus on the end result and if you're not too tired, find some fun activities you can do before the big day!
  • This is my first, too, and i was scared about the whole labor and delivery thing until i started reading about it and gathering information.....its always best to be informed about childbirth because so many things could happen while you're in the birthing room.....i feel better now that im prepared and informed.....sometimes your mind can be your best friend but at other times your worst enemy.....just relax, do some research, maybe go to a birthing class......and you'll do fine mama good luck!!!
  • I felt that way with my daughter 5 yrs ago. Now I'm expecting my son and I'm starting to feel that scary feeling again. Izander4 is right! I had went to a lamaze class and it was amazing on how they prepare you... mentally. You get to see what real birth is like. I remember being in my delivry room and hearing other moms freaking out and I felt really bad for them. So prepare like its a Final and watch and see how great the experience can be. Remember our bodys are built for this.. allow nature to take control.
  • This is my first and I'm getting close to! But I think I have Googled everything about birth and after that I feel very prepared :) ppl are trying to scare me but I know if I let my mind focus on that it will just make it worse... watch some water births and home births. And dream about IRS going as clam and smooth ;) that's what I do
  • *yours lol not IRS
  • This is my second and I'm excited to get the little one out... I have 29 days left
  • Wow thank you all for the advice! :) well my due date is may 5th, and I have enough activities to keep me busy and less stressed (well not really, I'm getting married on the 19th which is in 2 DAYS!!!) Well I guess a wedding is pretty stressful. That could be part of the added stress! But any ideas on relaxing activities that won't wear me out? Because lately my fiancè has to help me roll out of bed just to pee! But I will certainly take those lamaz classes and do some research! I also watched a live birth online, and all I can say is....OUCH! LOL it'll definitely be an experience!
  • This is my frist excited muchh lol.. Are due date are rite by each other mys is may 2 I kno the feelin your goin thou.. yoga workouts well work you can google about it that's wat I did.. good luck hun
  • @bambam im due on may 5 too!! :D how lucky is that???
  • @InsanePreggoChick Ahahaha :D girrl I feel you on that one too! :) it would be nice to actually SEE where I'm shaving :/ geesh, I've just given up on that already tho! Haha but I'll be so happy to see my baby baby girl :)
  • I'm due may 4th. This is my second child. Seriously the fear of birth never goes away. I'm not scared of birth I'm scared of worse but if I survived at 16 I'm sure I will at 27. The birth isn't bad. Just be prepared for pain and when time comes to push lol the lights remind me of a UFO. Stitches suck but its not bad. The worst is contractions and stitches. If you have an epidural then most of the time you wont hurt so I heard. Use primerose oil on your perinium to avoid tear as my friend told me. Good luck to everyone. Just remember this is the only pain you get something amazing out of.
