  • I have a 14 month old I don't think he gets it if she's ready more power to ya my son just stads ther touching his weewee and when he pees he stands ther looking at it in amazment like what the heck... funny
I did hear that girls r faster at it then boys don't know hbow true that is...my older kids I potty trained I just got the pecial undies they chose and that was that no problems
  • lol that's super funny, ya shes totally ready, she's consistently taking off her diaper, and always running to the toilet but will not go potty in it lol.. Ugh its frustrating, but ill get it figured out... Maybe she is still to young??.. I've heard girls are wayyy easier to, she seems like she's almost there tho, I just hope its done and over with before this baby gets here.. Well thank you hun, and good luck to you!! =D
  • I would have to get back to u on that tmrw..my friends daughter was potty train by 1 1/2.. i know she bought fun underwear and rewards like stickers..w/ my son he was 2 1/2 and the stickers wrk for him
  • i rewarded my son with stickers and little candy. he loved it. i also kept a chart to show him how good he was doing. he was fully potty trained in a month
  • Not sure if its true, but a few friends have told me not to bother with my son potty training before #2 arrives (my son is 15 months) I keep hearing that they resort back to their baby ways once the new baby comes. Maybe for the attention? But I have heard this from a few of my mom friends. Sounds frustrating...though I havent tried yet. I may just wait...
  • I wanna get my daugher potty trained too now tht theres a new baby on the way!

@jessesmama my daughters name is jessie too! :)
  • Yea ladies, that is what I was afraid of lol.. She's broke from a bottle, almost from a binki, and she's ALWAYS taking off her diaper and going to the toilet but just won't go potty.. Im afraid of the same thing I don't want her wanting a binki nd bottle just because the baby has one.. But her doc said she's very advanced like 5mnths ahead.. She started walking at 8mnths old and She said "i miss you" at 4 months, and it just so happens I was recording her while she said it (loud nd clear).. So she's very very smart so I'm hoping when I do start the process its fast and easy!!! Ima have to get get pretty undies nd stuff to reward her with.. Ill keep you ladies posted on how it goes, wish me luck =D
  • Good luck!
  • Have plenty of consistent rewards. We use skittles at work, but with 2 year olds, might be dangerous at 18 months. They get a treat for actually going potty, not just sitting there. Hang out, read books, and talk while she sits in the potty. Talk about how she gets to wear her big girl princess panties if she goes pee in the potty, and how you use the potty, and daddy uses the potty, aunt whoever uses it, etc. There are a lot of fun potty books. Like Everybody Poops (maybe it's Everyone, don't remember), and Even Firefighters Go To The Potty (the kids at work adore that one. It is really cute). And take her every half an hour. You're bound to catch her before she pees eventually. And when you do... go bananas celebrating. And if her diaper is wet when you take it off, talk about how it's wet already, and how we keep our panties dry.

My mom would sit on the tolit and read to me. She said we would sit there forever but that worked all the one on one time.
