edited January 2011 in Pregnant
I'm thinking of renting one but not sure where to rent one at I'm scared when I return it they will charge me 500 or so if they say it broke has anyone rented one and if so where from. My Dr said its a good idea for me that it will help relax me

  • I am 16 weeks & just rented one yesterday. It should be here in 2-5 days. I'm doing mine for 3 months & its $60 for the 3 months & includes the ultrasound gel & a manuel. I went through pregnancy.org & look for it on their website. There's different dopplers to rent and different prices. They say when you return it you keep the packaging it came in & they give you a return label that you'd put on the box & you call them mon-fri and they'll pick it up for free. The one I'm renting also lets me see how many beats per minute. These were the cheapest prices that i had found. Good luck.
  • I did with my 1 st 2 babies. I think I got mine off of babybeat.com. I loved it! It gave me reassurance everything was ok. I say go for it! :)
  • Naw I bought mine off of amazon.com for like 50 or so dollars
  • Thanks I just rented one I hope to get it soon I'm excited
  • @debs where did you end up ordering yours from? I can't wait to get mine, I'm hoping it'll come tomorrow. :)
  • We bought one from amazon.com for $150, totally worth it! It has an LCD screen that works great, has the gel with it, I've found baby's heartbeats since 13 weeks. Within seconds! Its amazing. I think it was $136 plus shipping...but totally worth it, haven't had a complaint! Keeps your mind very reassured. Its called a hibebe fetal Doppler. Good luck! And congrats!
  • I purchased mine off ebay its a sonoline b 3mhz doppler with lcd screen 3 differant modes. I first heard my heartbeat when I was 9 weeks 3days
  • Ps u dont need ultrasound gel.... I use aloe vera gel. Works great and wont ruin doppler. I also just rub it in 2 my belly after
  • @mama2four thanks for the info on using aloe vera gel. I was wondering where Id get more gel when mine runs, mine is goona come with a bottle of gel, but I'm sure I'll use it up fast. Only other alternative I found was using KYjelly, but aloe is much cheaper I'm sure and I already have aloe at home. Thanks for that piece of info. :)
  • I'm a first time mommy. What exactly is this?sounds interesting
  • Its a doppler to hear the babys heart beat like the ones the doctors use in the office. You can rent or buy them and listen to babys heart at home.
  • @melinda326 I got mine off belly beats I liked that they cover damages just in case some other places wanted you to buy insurance so I only rented for a month to see how I like it if dislike it ill try a different place I should get mine Tuesday if not earlier I hope you will have to tell me how you like yours. @aly its the thing your Dr checks the babies heart beat with at your check up
