ideas for foods that i can stomach

I've been living off popcorn and sprite for the past week or so, because I can't hold anything else down. I even vomit up the prenatals within 5 minutes of taking them, so there's really no point in even taking them. Anyone have any ideas for healthy foods I'll be able to keep down? recipes are definately welcome!

  • U should probably go ahead and see your doctor and let them know that u have severe nausea so they can give u something for it.
  • Have u tried peanut butter? I heard it helps coat the stomach...I heard some ppl mention toast didn't make them sick
  • Me too sprite and potatoes though. I've tried other things and still not working! Popcorn was not a good idea for me it hurts coomming up.
  • My doc just gave me phenogren and Vicodin or told me to take maalox... nothing helps! My other doc gave me script to help the acid in my tummy. She says safe but I'm running by my ob before I start taking them.
  • Pb&j with half glass of milk
  • Pretzels, don't drink soda its not good. Get gatorade to rehydrate. And toast is good. My nutritionist said to me if I can't take the prenatals to take gummie vitamins. Talk to a nutritionist and doctor.
  • Yumm. Yall are makin mw hungry readin this
  • Rice, or bread and the vummi vitamins. There's also a protien drink from a company called bolthouse farms. The drink is the vanilla chai latte (no caffiene) but it has lots of protien and b vitamins. I could stomach it most of time it seemed to help my morning sickness
  • My "trick" to the qeezies is a glass of ice & ginger ale and plain crackers, hope it helps
  • Phenergen or Zofran (prescriptions), toast, crackers, pretzels. This kit I used with a couple of my pregnancies when it wasn't bad enough to take Zofran, but needed to settle my tummy http://www.doulashop.com/products/morning-sickness-relief/morning-sickness-kit-deluxe.html
but, I am on Zofran again with this pregnancy, I haven't needed to take it as much as before, but I still need it here & there. I hope this helps!
  • Crackers, any soups. Thats all I can keep dwn
  • I agree with the others who have mentioned going by the doctor's office to see if he or she can offer a possible prescription for anti-nausea medicine. In the meantime, I would also like to add to the suggestions dry cereal such as Cheerios to help with the nausea. If you can, make sure you have something on your stomach for about ten to twenty minutes before taking your prenatal vitamins. I find this helps me when I take any vitamins, prenatal or not.
  • Crunchy nut cornflakes with sliced banana an milk is fab I have lived off these from 6weeks :-) am a grumpy woman without ma daily fix of cereal lol.

  • Progresso chicken noodle. Cup o noodles. Hot chocolate. Diet 7 up (no caffiene or sugar its amazing) string cheese. Gala apples. Clementines.
  • I'm on the zofran, so I'm not throwing up, but I still can't eat hardly anything without gagging...it's awful! My diet right now is basically chocolate milk and yogurt.

  • Saltines and peanut butter! Pretzels...italian ice...ask to change ur prenatals mine made me sick too, my doc has me taking 2 flintstones a.day...much better!
  • Anything with protein. I drink a high protein boost each morning and it helps. Studies have shown high protein helps with nausea. That is why the peanut butter works for some. Good luck, feeling sick all the time sucks! I feel your pain.
  • I have the same prob.my doctor says not to take prenatals untill I'm feeling better and eating Flintstones instead.its been a bit better.I was eating porridge apples oranges bannanas apple sauce and basically anything bland.good luck! Ask your doc to prescribe something for nausea your baby needs more nutrients after the first trimester!
  • Tuc biscuits and yogurt helped stem the nausea for me.
  • I am 18 weeks. Form 8 to 16 weeks was just nausea all the time. All I could eat was fruit and mac n chess or Velveeta shells lol. Now im eating all the freakin time :D
