  • That's basically all I used. The hospital supplies everything for the baby. You'll want toiletries so you can shower. Our hospital let us bring her baby book and they stamped her footprints on it for us. And you might want a camera.

Take things to keep you occupied. Yes, you will have the baby and need to rest, but I got so restless! Take sleeping outfits and a pillow, sometimes the hospital's suck. Of course a toothbrush, soap, loofa, etc. but you may want to bring your own pads as well, they provide them but they can be overly bulky and uncomfortable. Take hair ties or a headband. I needed one bad during labor. And remember you may want to bring things like makeup in case you don't want awful post baby pics. Thats something I wish I had remembered. Im taking nonskid socks this time too, last time walking was hard enough without slipping on tile!
  • one thing some one told me wich i was so happy i listened bring your own cotton panties obviously u wont miss.. u wear them w/ the hospital pads and then oon top of ur own panties you wear the mesh ones they give you the pad will stay more secure.. and will feel less icky.. best advise i got

  • Get the heavy overnight pads by always. They don't feel like a diaper and work well.. also bring a pair of undies u don't care about throwing away. Bring baby wipes they only use wet gayer.. bring more than one pair of sox(my swattered broke on mine lol) bring a security blanket, they wont let you take theirs, bring a binki (even if u are against them as they may be needed in nicu or under billi blankets) if you don't bring one then you might have to pay for theirs. Your breast pump and pads.. your nipple cream, witchazle pads for swelling of the lady parts after. A robe for walking so ur ass is not sticking out lol. Sweat pants or something streachy for going home in.. tooth brush and mints. All of your legal info(pack it now so u don't forget it) phone chargers. Gold fish or other poppable snacks. A contact list if u have sensitive skin then the lotion you want for your baby. That's all I can think of at the moment lol
  • Besides the basics and above mentioned... I plan on taking an ipod and book just incase, those 2 things help me relax and ill pack an overnight bag for my husband since he's planning on staying with me.
  • Oh and mittens for the baby because they tend to scratch their face right out of the belly
  • My doctor gsve me a list last appointment.. Things like a nursing bra if you are breast feeding. Several pair of underwear. A pillow. Clothes for you and baby. Diapers. Pads.
  • My hospital dubbs up on the pads and has a special ice pack. I took all the extra ice packs and had my hubby put them in his truck so if somebody got hurt on the job, they are the kind you break and then they get cold. I am having baby # 6 and am so behind. I'm 32 4 and haven't packed a bag, emptied the bassinet, got her outfit or located 0-3 month clothes yet. I just don't have the energy to get it done! Hopefully soon!
  • @queen628 yess i hate when he moves becuz i get goose bumps...n my body is very sensitive....so when it kicks i feel nasty........n yess my baby head is down.....but now im 38 weeks and he dont move as much as he moves bcuz he has less space to move...
  • Im 39 weeks 2moro :) Im due april 7th :).
    Good..luck.ladies!!!
  • I brought everything mentioned above, plus...
Room spray...Apple cinnamon...I hate the hospital smell LOL
Gum...when they won't let you eat, a piece of gum tastes so yummm.
Snacks... I packed snacks and drinks for my hobby so he wouldn't have to leave the room
Daddy bag...I packed an overnight bag for my hobby. Including toiletries, pillow, and blanket for him.
Can u tell I didn't want him to leave the room?! LOL
  • You thought of everything...except. : Don't forget breath mints incase the breathing dries out your mouth...and you don't want bad breath when everyone will smell it because youre breathing hard. Good idea to brush you teeth before going to hospital too. They can get you ice chips to suck on too.
  • My hubby just reminded me that I packed Snuggies for us :) Now I remember! They worked out great! He also reminded me that I also packed a gift bag full of mini candy bars for the nurses...I am a nurse, so I knew this way a way to get on their good side ;) and it worked! LOL
