GAiiNiiNG TO MUCH WEiiGHT !

umm iwent to my prenatal appt yesterday &&_ the lady told me I'm gaining too much weight for the bby I'm only supposed to gain 3-4 pounds a month on 1/31/11 iwas 125 &&_ now yesterday 3/22/11 160 she said igained to much weight &&_ its not qood ican give the bby gestational diabetes or high blood pressure which is not good for niether one of us ; so can some you tell me what you ladies eat or what you do to keep your weight gain at a limit ??

  • How far along are you...I started small like you in the low 120s...u didn't gain anything until about the six mnth mark...I made up
  • I can't suggest foods because I eat way to much and its all junk, but I do try and walk atleast 3 days a week for 30+ minutes and thats not even guaranteed there. I was 154 when I got preggo (5'5) and now 34+ I am around 184 so I have already gained 30lbs and still have 5+wks to go

  • for lost time I ended my nine mnths at almost 170....I guess.it depends how far along you are??..it didn't matter what I did or are in those last few mnths..my body was gaining weight whether I like it or not lol...I know its not much help, but I've totally been.there and know the feeling!...:-)
  • I always weighed 122. Now every scale I hit says 136, my gym which is always higher then other scales weighed me at 140. April 6 I start my second trimester. Thats almost 20 pounds since december! But here's where its weird. My wii says I gained only 5 to 6 pounds since January. Im confused how much I really have gained..
  • well ido a lot of water but I'm addicted to ensure &&_ ithink tht makes yuu gain weight butt ilovee it , umm ido intake a lot of vegetables &&_ fruits umm soda here &&_ theree not a lot mostly aqua &&_ mee &&_ &&_ myy BF dnt knww how to cook so we mstly eat fast food but when his mom comes over which is a lot of times she cook for me full course meals&&_ healthly meal thts why idk why I'm gaining so much weight !
  • I have gestational diabetes, and if you look at your labels I will explain a little bit of how my diet works. Everything is based on the carb total. Its listed on every package. For breakfast and the 3 snacks a day I am allowed 30 carbs, for lunch and dinner I am allowed 60 carbs. I am also suppose to eat meat or a meat substitute, like peanut butter at every meal. But if you look at your pop alone 1 can is usually like 60 carbs. That's all the carbs allowed for lunch.

    I also know that ensure drinks do make you gain weight, it is what they wanted to put me on for my 2nd baby cause I wasn't gaining weight.

    So maybe if you cut back on the pop, ensure and fast food, you might balance out. I know its hard, but its even harder to lose the extra weight after baby comes!

  • If you like sweets try dried fruit. I'm not a huge sweets person but now that i'm preggo I am loving candy! It was a little out of control so I started buying dried papaya and it is almost too sweet for me but makes a great snack. :)

  • This is my 6th baby and the first time I've had gestational diabetes. I think sometimes its what you eat, and sometimes just the pregnancy. They put me on a diet, I kept having high readings, they put me on a pill and I started getting really low readings. Low enough I could pass out, and that's not an option with a 1 and 2yr old so now we're back to just diet. If it doesn't work this time it sounds like I might need insulin.

    Your meal sounded good, corn is a starch. Maybe try to balance it all out and divide it to where you eat 6 small meals a day. Trust me I know how hard that one is, but somehow I'm doing ok. I miss one once in awhile. But its better than the 2 meals I was eating before.

  • I have a lot of cravings, but if you don't have it in the house and somebody won't go get it for you, they usually pass. If not go with a smaller size. I notice that when I have a craving say for chocolate I want to buy it all, but then only eat 1 piece, then I have all the rest just sitting around tempting me, til I eat it all....not good!
