what size to buy my newborn?! so confused!

Everyones been buying me new born clothes I have around 8 outfits/onesies.but I heard newborns grow out of the newborn size in a few weeks?some mom's say they had to change outfits more than 3 times a day.but my mom says there's no need just wear a bib?I'm so confused in registering gifts and have no idea what sizes to get maybe 0-3 months? Help needed from experienced moms!

Suggestions on other things to register is also greatly appreciated.Im registering a car seat and breast pump.maybe baby monitor and daipers? Idk

    I had a little baby (5lbs 9 oz- 18in) and she took forever to grow out a newborns. But some babies might come out wearing the 0-3 size. No real way of knowing. I waited to buy the newborn clothes until after she was born bc I wanted to be sure she would even need them.

    I think 0-3 is the way to go. I had big babies. If you go to the babiesrus website they give you a list of what the basics are and how many of each. It's very Long . Good luck.

    Sleep and plays r great. My kids lived in those till they were one. I wouldnt buy too many newborn size clothes or diapers. They really do grow fast.

    My daughter was 7lbs 9oz and stayed in newborns until 2 months old, 0-3 months until 4 months, 3-6 months until 7 months, 6-9 months until 9 months, currently 14 months and she's still in 12 month clothes for weight but 18 months for her height. :) she is tall, 33 inches :) Anyways, you can never have too many clothes in my opinion :)

    its different for all id say. my baby was 7lbs & 20inc...he wore newborn for bout a month then 0-3 till he was like 4 months...

    I bought a few newborn outfits, & received a zillion 0-3 months clothing for my daughter. She was born a healthy 7 pounds 7 ounces & was nineteen inches long. She was normal sized but, I had to go buy preemie clothes for her first month because everything engulfed her! But, after a month or so they grow like a weed. So, don't invest in a huge amount of NB clothes.

    Im buying 3-6 and 6-9 mnths since they get rid of it so soon....

    My daughter was 7.5 when she was born but short she wore premee clothes for almost 2 month and was in 6-9 months at a year it all depends on the baby

    Thanks moms.I think I have enough newborn and will just get 0-3 but not too much just in case thanks again for the advice!

    I bought 0-3 months and they worked fine until 6 months because they stretched a lot. Make sure its pure cotton though or with a little spandex is fine because some babies get rashes on their skin.
