daycare issues???

edited March 2011 in Pregnant
So I'm currently pregnant with baby number 2 due sept 12th. And I'm concerned about a couple things. I have a three year old and I pay for daycare 20 dollars a day. I don't have any family around here and not really any friends. How does anyone afford daycare for two kids? I make more money then my husband so I can't quit my job and I can't seem to find another job that pays as much. Anyone have this problem?

  • Have you tried looking for programs where you live that can either cut the daycare cost in half or allow you to put your kids in daycare for free?
  • Try welfare they might help every state and county is different. Or try to find home daycare only if you can trust the person its often cheaper then a center.
  • I make just over the amount allowed for any state help ... I can't get help with anything
  • I currently hhave home daycare 20 dollars a day
  • I live in pa, I only make 8 an hour and I make too much to qualify for welfare so I've been going to churches looking for posts for people who run daycare or will baby sit
  • @chelsanstine all the churches around here charge. I also have been keeping my eye open for cheaper home daycare.. but its stressful I'm afraid to leave me kids with strangers
  • If you live in pa try calling the local health department because any registered home day cares would be on file there, they can give you their phone numbers and maybe one is cheaper, also you can try to call the early intervention office for children run by your county you would have to get that num from your childs dr.
  • I live in ohio.. but I will see if that service is offered here at the health department... thank u
