what are the chances?

Ok so I've been on bc since November 2009. I was sick this weekend and didn't go out to pick up my new pack, I asked my dad to and he forgot, Monday I forgot and I went Tuesday but couldn't pick it up. I was gone wed and thurs but FINALLY picked it up today. Problem is I've not been using a backup method and have had unprotected sex sat, mon, wed, thurs, and friday. If I start my bc Sunday what are the chances I could get preggers?

    Honestly I would say not a lot I was on bc for four years and doc told me it would take a few months for it to get out of my system got off of it in my got prego in september ish

    If you are not taking it at the same time (within a five min window of the same time I should say) that 99.9 effective rate goes down exponentially. When your sick or taking other meds its the samething. If you are not wanting a baby condoms would be a good plan untill your back on sched. It takes several wks for the pill schedual to take effect. Call your doctors office to verify. Good luck.

    Will I was.on bc when I was younger...i use to go out n party sleeped in allday so didnt take my pill on time or 4got to...anyways I ended up pregnant ..also i was on it faithful for 4 yrs till I started partying n I ended up preg with n a mnth time

    It depends some on the type of pill you take...with my ex I was with him 4 yrs and skipped all kinds of days and would go months without any bc whatsoever. Didn't get preggers thank god because I hated the guy!

    When I got with my man now I switched to a super-low dose of bc, my doctor warned me to not skip a single dose because it even actually increases the chance of getting pregnant. Thought he said it just to scare me since i admitted to him I smoked weed occasionally (the year before, haven't in months) ...Sure enough... thankfully its with someone I've always had a special connection with

    My mom had both my brothers on birth controle. I have 3 co workers who got preg on birth controle. And one who got preg a week after she quit it. If your counting on just BC you are taking a risk regardless. And the less consistant you are the greater the risk. If you don't want to get preg think twice before having sex. And who your having it with. Because sex does lead to kids. Just a fact. They are amazing! But if your not in love and basically ready for the chance. Prob should think about not having sex..?

    If the pill is taken exactly as directed it's very effective, and if not it isn't. It sounds like you haven't taken it in the ideal manner, so you definitely could be pregnant :)

    well it wouldn't be a "planned" thing but my boyfriend and I would be ok with it. he has a very stable job with a good income & insurance, i'm done with school and can easily get a job if needed. i am just worried that i should start taking prenatal vitamins and stop drinking three cups of coffee a day just in case.. thanks everyone!

    Well quit taking the bc just incase......I got pregnant on bc even tho I wasnt taking it as it was inteneded to not get preg.....I took it for the cyst i was getting all the time..... Doc had told me due to a surgery on my ovaries I woulldnt be able to have kids.....I tried for 3 years.....then started taking bc cause of the cyst.....what do you know I ended up pregnant on the pill go figure......found out in the hospital after they injected me with moriphine for another surgery that i was to have on ovaries....So I wouldn't count on bc. I went from being told i could not have kids to now I have 2 boys 8.5 and 10years I am due for my third one in September after once again being told I cant have kids.....took a while But what a gift from God.

    well i'm happy for you tammy! i've always been terrified I wont be able to have kids once I start trying :/ I guess i'm just paranoid. But I think I will wait until I have my next period (if I have one) before I start taking bc again - just in case!
