poppyseed muffin=failed drug test?

If anybody seen mythbusters they know that eating poppyseeds could result in failing a heroin drug test.. but i think it has to be a lot of eating poppyseeds. but if i eat a muffin could i fail a drug test maybe because I'm pregnant it affects different and goes thru my system different? Anybody know please i don't wanna have my baby taken away because I'm starving and all there is are poppyseed muffins!

    yes you can fail a drug test because of a poppyseed muffin... its happened to me.. but if you do just let them know and theyll test again...

    tough one. but I dont think so from eating muffins. hm. but maybe explain that u were eating them.

    @firsttimedaddy ive had it happen with just muffins but i love poppyseed muffins and used to eat alot... all they are gonna do is test again and basically they wont take the baby just because of a muffin... lolz

    Even if its just one single muffin ever? Not eating them everyday or anything... :(

    I personally experienced this no with my first I was in the military and pregnant at time had a poppy seed muffin for breakfast and a random drug test that afternoon I ask the administrators and they said no lol I would have had to eat 10 and I did pass you're fine!

    Great! I have been eating them like crazy! It's been a craving that I can't avoid lol.

    well it only stay's in your system for like a day or so... but all you have to do is tell your doctor... i dont know about eating just one if it's different.. im pretty sure the more you eat the sstronger it shows in the test... but even still it stays for like a day-week tops...

    Only if u eat like a dozen muffins completely coated in poppy seeds..

    If i wasn't so close to my d day i wouldnt even trip. But I'm actually haveing preterm labor symptons as type this, and if they don't pass by morning I'm going to the hospital. so that's why I'm worried i wouldnt have eaten it if i wasn't starving because the pain I'm in made me puke and tummy was grumbling lol

    There are drug tests that can tell which opiate you took, like if it was heroin, oxycontin, methadone. So I'm sure if you failed you would either be retested with a better screening test.

    @babyboyontheway go ahead and eat one.. but let the dr know that you did before he tests anything so they can give you the right test... but for the most part you say poppyseed they say ok and ignore it...

    @jalem thank u your comments were really helpful i was hoping to hear from someone who had a personal experience i wasn't sure if a muffin would be enough to convict me lol

    I have had them ask me if I have eaten one before I took the test. Just tell them and I'm sure it be fine. Lol or u can just show up eating one
