38 Weeks and my baby isnt growing....

edited March 2011 in Third Trimester
I went to the doctor last week and should have been measuring 37 I only measured 36, so again I went today and am still at 36 not at 38. The doctor said next week if I'm syllable at 36 weeks then were doing an ultrasound to make sure my baby is OK.

This happen to anyone else?

  • My best friend done the same thing the baby just ran out of room and she had no where else to grow but baby came out don't
  • fine and healthy*
  • Yup. My daughter measured around 35 wks when she was born at 38. I had an unusual lab that put me at risk for getting a blood clot in the cord. They said that even w/o a clot there could be reduce blood flow as she got bigger so she wouldn't grow as fast
  • She was completely developed tho. Just tiny (5 lbs 7 oz and 18 in). She is still super short
  • It's common for them to measure smaller and sometimes to appear like they haven't grown at all. At 36 weeks my baby was measuring at 31 weeks which was the third time she'd measured at least 4 weeks behind. So literally the next day I saw a consultant and she measured 33 weeks! Also had an ultrasound to be on safe side and she was fine! Also has been measuring within normal range now. Position has a lot to do with it and so does the amount of fluid. So try not to worry but it's probably going to be better if they do a ultrasound to make sure and just to put you at ease too :-)
  • That's so scary, but I'm glad your baby's doing good. :) I will feel a lot better once I get the ultrasound

That's a very very tiny baby...I'm so glad she came out healthy.
