Epidural all the way! Lol.. its just really horrible pain, but props to those who can do it naturally. I had my first naturally (not by choice) and it was bad. I'm sure it had something to do with my entire family being in the room talking loudly and I couldn't concentrate on my breathing
I'm going to go natural for as long as possible because they say the epidural can slow down labor but I'm for sure getting one before its too late I just want to progress quickly I don't want a 20+ hour labor!
It was hard to push because of my epidural. All you feel is pressure during it though. I went into labor at 8am, and got my epidural around 2 and had him at 6:26
@fashion_junk91 that's what people have told be is that it can make labor longer as well as you need to push longer (since you can't really feel down there) my cousin had one and she pushed 5 hours...my mom said she only pushed 3-4 times she had all natural but I'm getting an epidural I'm just going to with stand labor pain as long as possible preferably until 6-7 cm
They say an epidural makes it take longer to dialate so not to get them to early I got one with my first three and will with my fourth the longest labor I had was 8 hours and that was with my first I just try to wait till im dialated to 5 or 6 then get it
I'm going for natural again but i would never rule out epidural completely cos u don't know how it will go. 1 of my friends was at 8cm for 5 hrs before she got an epidural. Don't think I could handle that. I was lucky with my 1st it was only 6 hours from start to finish so I managed without pain relief then but i'd never say never.
I had at epidural gt to the hospital at 3am and those contractions r no joke by 5am I had a epidural didnt have her till 544pm didnt feel anyrhing not to mention she took a nap while I was in labor smh can u say april fools she came on april fools day lol I am in my 3rd trimester and I plan on having a epidural no pain for me
I agree with laura536, my labor was long before the epidural. After the epidural was inserted, it only took a couple hrs before pushing, i didnt tear on my own. They had to cut me because i was way too small. And my kids did not come out "loopy". I am all for epidurals.
Epidural as soon as possible, I am a wimp. With my first two kids I pushed for less than 15 min so I have no problem with the epidural, I also don't have terribly long labors, less than 12 hrs with both.
My mom had 3 labors without epidurals all over 48 hrs each and all 3 babies heart rates dropped below 50. Then it was my time to enter the world and they finally agreed to give her the epidural, I was born 5 hours after and my heart rate didn't drop. I will most definately be getting an epidural even though my midwife doesn't encourage it, she said she would never deny anyone. Thank god for modern medicine, if it weren't safe it wouldn't be an options for mothers ya know?
I had an epidural with my daughter and honestly it wasn't bad. I have a great labor and when it was time to push...I think I pushed 4 times and in less than 5 mins of pushing she was out. Her head was shaped a little funny LOL, but that was gone in a day or two. I would like to try it natural this time around, but I guess only time will tell once I'm in labor. Good luck to you..do what feels right.
Since I only want one baby, I'm going natural. Plus, I don't like needles, so the thought of getting one poked in a very sensitive place freaks me out.
