How important are they? Is anyone taking them?

  • I take them and it has all vitamins u need they also have gummies if the pill makes u sick
  • Yes!! They are very important, helps with the baby's growth! :)
  • I take them! Very portant it give you and your baby the.vitamins that some foods dont.
  • You really should be taking folic acid if not the prenatals
  • I've been on them since I learned I was pregnant right before Halloween. They provide you & especially your baby with vital nutrients & vitamins that you're not likely to receive enough of just through diet alone. Studies seem to prove that women on pre-natals have healthier, better developed babies than those who never take them. My advice: start before you become pregnant if it's a planned pregnancy, or begin them as SOON as you know you are pregnant! :)

Ok, well the doctor gave me like 5 packs to choose from, some have DHA and others dont. Can anyone tell me what that is???
  • DHA is an Omega-3 fatty acid that pregnancy and breast feeding can seriously deplete within a woman's body. It's best thought to help support the baby's brain and eye development, but also the heart and central nervous systems. We consume DHA from eating fish, but pregnant women are told to reduce or stop fish consumption due to mercury toxicity risk.
  • Okay, thanx so much! I will definitely start taking my vitamins!
  • Gotta have the Dha and folic acid too.
  • @Baby_2, You can try "Select OB+Dha" Its chewy vitamin and omega-3 orange flavor swallowed. its best... I remain to use it... Yes, you should take it. :)
  • I take "One A Day" brand prenatals that also came with a DHA/EPA liquid gel supplement. My OB said she recommends them, and they can be purchased at Walmart inexpensively. Some women get nauseated and sick from their prenatals, but I've been okay as long as I don't take them on an empty stomach. Get on those vitamins, girl! Baby will thank you for it! :)
  • I also heard they make you nails and hair grow beautifully. Is this true?
  • I personally have noticed no changes in my hair or nails, but I also have not experienced the negative changes that some pregnant women do: such as brittle, dry hair or nails that easily crack and break. Maybe that's due to the prenatals, or maybe just luck? I've felt healthier since I've been on them and have managed to avoid all colds and flus I've been exposed to except for the one I recently got. Which is a miracle, cause I've been around some pretty nasty baby and little kid germs. Lol!
  • Im on the other side of this if you can take them that's great but I couldn't. My doctor pulled me off of them after we tried several and they made me sick. Do not waste your money on dha chewables they are gross. I tried 1 and could not stop gaging. But I take a multi vitamin and a iron supplement. In addition to eating right. My docs and I feel better about this route vs throwing up the pills. So if you can't take them don't beat yourself up just be sure to get all the vit/minerals you need.
  • I Took them with my first 2 until about 6 months. They are 100% healthy. I take vitafusion now, but plan to stop around 6 months.
