  • Girl I feel you! How far are you? Im 33wks and starting to panic!
  • Oh wow I'm bearly 6 wks lol
  • Wow its crazy u can see the babys face already. Your due anytime now
  • I'm 34 weeks and I'm scared of the pain too. You just got to keep yourself focused. Well I don't know from experience cause this is my first baby but I've read alot and asked many questions to the ladies on here.
  • Me too! The only thing that makes me feel just a teeny bit better is the fact that there are about 7 billion people alive right now and somebody had to give birth to every one of them. So...if they could do it so can I. It doesn't help much but it calms my nerves just a little. :-S

  • Does delivering the placenta hurt at all? Does it just come out on its own?
  • Plecenta doesn't hurt, The doc glides it out if I'm remembering correctly. I had 2 natural and 1 w/ epi either way you go there is discomfort but we forget soon after.
  • Try to breathe and remain calm focused on something besides the pain
  • GROSS QUESTION!!!!!! but ths is my 1st too & came here for answers... all bout the pain an streching... i also herd tht sum woman... go to the bathroom while pushing... as in #2... is ths true &/or likely or a myth lol.. jus curious..
  • @GirlsLoveInk not a myth I've known a few people who have soiled the delivery table as in# 2... some weren't even aware it was happening and some were just mortified that they did it in front of significant others.
  • Gonna hurt like hell! Once you hear your baby cry. The pain goes away ;-)
  • @aihmommy thnk u.. i herd so to an tht u dnt even feel it or notice it, thy jus clean it up an ur jus worried bout baby & not tht
  • Well my experience is yes it is some what painful. For however long it lasts. It I not a permanent pain and depending on how well it went you should just have monor discomfort after birth. I think the worse part for me was actually well after I had my baby and when I had my first bowel movement. Althoujgh passing kidney stones was way way worse. Id rather birth a millio. Babies then do that again.
Oh and number two happens. It will immediately get cleaned and for the most part it is unavoidable because while you are pushing the baby put you are also pushing out whatever happens to be in there. Doesn't always happen but it could and it is nothing to be ashamed of
  • I just had my son @ 37 weeks 3-15-11 vaginally and it was my first! Let me tell you it hurt a lot and I didn't take an epidural or any meds! I was just focusing on the contractions bringing me that much closer to having my baby! It was challenging but so empowering at the same time. I was thankful labor was only 4.5 hours long and not any longer. After you deliver you forget all the pain when you hold your baby for the first time!:-) best of luck and congrats!
  • Thank you for posting this. I am pretty scared if labor. Im 38.5 weeks by the way so it us coming lol. Congratulations mommas, since other women have been doing this forever I am sure we can. Good luck
  • What people don't tell you is the pain for weeks afterward. Sharp pains when sitting or standing & stock up on pads cause you'll need them & if the hospital offers those funky looking disposable underwear get them! As far as the in labor pain with my boys I literally vomitted with both & yes small amt of #2 but with my 1st son I had him all natural (total 6.5 hours labor & out of hospital b4 24 hrs was up & with my 2nd son I had back labor which was contractions in the front & back & I wimped & got an epidural (labor 4.5 hours & again less than 24 hrs in hosp) both my boys weighed the same 7lb 3oz just one was 19 in & the other 19.5. Honestly my 2nd son with epidural hurt worse I can't explain it. Luckily as time goes on the memory of the actual pain fades too. The placenta was just another big push! I'm due now 11 years later on 11-11-11 going all natural but I'm a lot older so hopefully I stick with game plan! Sorry for rambling! You ladies will do just fine <3
  • I'm sure labor is different for everyone. I'm all for epiderals. I had a good experience with it my first time so I will do it again but I do know some aren't so lucky. Example, epidural not working and such. The contractions were uncomfortable but it wasn't that bad before I had my epidural. After that everything was a breeze. After the meds wear off, the pain does come but you're really more focus on your baby that sort of helps block the thought of how much you're hurting. It doesn't last long.
  • when I got to the hospital I was already 5 cm drive myself to the hospital got the epidural. labor was about 6 hrs all together. I slept I laughed. three pushes and all done. I loved giving birth. hope this time around its easy again ..... don't be nervous!!!
  • It will be painful but not more then you can bear Just try to relax as much as you can!!! Our body's were made to give birth. The second you see the life you created looking at you the pain will have seemed completely worth it. I honestly thought the hardest part of having a baby was being pregnant for 40weeks especially the last 8.I've had three babys one with no pain meds and one weighing 10lbs. I think everyone gets nervous about labor and delivery but really it's going to be one of the best days of your life!!"!
  • Counterpressure massages during labor contractions help. Back contractions are worse than regular contractions-in my experiance. But everytime u push during a contraction u get relief. As soon as the baby slides out, its the best relief ever! And ur not in pain anymore, i did feel a poke here and there when the doctor stitched me but its goes pretty quick.
  • But after all that, its soooo worth it! Its like u would do it all over again. Crazy i know.
  • Dang I got nervous reading these lol my sister had 3 babys. The first 2 natural and she had problems. got a epi on the 3rd and it went real good for her
  • See wat people fail to realize is the after pain besides the stitch down there is not caused by the birth its the epidural the doctor tells u the side effect of it but people being so blind sided by the contractions they ignore that part I can honestly say that's true cuz I did that with my last two but my first was all natural n I was 15 now I'm having my fourth. N as for #2 yes it happens for only two reasons 1 it happens cuz the doctor clearly states no food 24hrs b4 delivering but some couldn't hold out(me) n 2 being ur baby either poops on its way out trust some poop some pees on doctors or nurses either way it can harm ur child if it gets n its lungs that can cause breathing issues. The main thing is not to stress especially now cuz that stress can send u into labor just think of it like this u would want a beginning to tell ur child y not start with the actual birth.
Oh n the pain does go away after da birth its a psychological thing the baby replaces the pain gud luck
  • when i was in labor only the contractions hurt me my son didnt hurt the only thing is i got cut down there cuz his head wont come out good luck n dont stress urself out
