varicose veins...down there!

edited April 2011 in Third Trimester
I've been having some pain, itching, and dryness, so when I went to the midwife today, I had her check it out. I thought I may have an infection, turns out I have varicose veins INSIDE my vulva! I didn't know you could get them there! MW told me to wear a pad because a little pressure would help, was wondering if anyone has some advice on what else I can do to ease the discomfort?

  • Oh my sister had those she said it really sucked! But it was cuz she was standing on a hard floor a lot of the day
She said to put ur feet up as much as possible to keep the baby weight off that area ;)
  • @mommy2audrey thanks! Its my third full term pregnancy, and I naver had it happen before. Did they go away after she had her baby? I know moms who got varicose veins on their legs and they never go away.
  • Umm I didn't ask that lol but I don't think they bother her any more she has had 4 kids and she is pretty small
  • Put come witchhazel on a pad and put the pad in the fridge for an hour and then use it. The cold and the witchhazel REALLY helped my sister.
  • Thanks @mamamagz def tryin that one.
  • No problem, it is cold and squishy at first and feels REALLY strange, but it works really well.
