I didn't read all post an this is my 1st at 5wks too... I've alrdy thought of vaginaly but nevr thought of the after affects of wut my area would look like... duz it just go to sh*t? Lol dnt thy sew u up... could u ask for an extra stich? Lol. I'm seriously curious an mean no harm, I'm new to ths an the giving birth part scares me
@sgthalesbabies As I have said I know alot of women have chosen a c section only for the reason of them not wanting them to scar their vag... Im not talking bout women who get c section for the health of the baby or themselves. I understand tht of course I would let them cut me up to get my baby out if they had to no doubt about tht. Im blessed to have the experience I did with her... And actually they gave me the choice for a c section or vag with my daughter..
@GirlsLoveInk my daughter tore me up lol of course didnt feel it or the stiching but it still works and my bd still loves it! Lol I heard some docs do tht.. You should ask urs! Lol
Omg my stomach hurts after u said "tore me up" holy hell I'm freaking out!!!! Lol.. Omg Omg omg lol... ima ask em to throw a few extra ones in there after i get ripped frm crack to crack! Lmfao omg...
I dnt want a needle in spine.. tht scares me too!! But i guess ill have to.... an if he hooks me up w a few extras ill have virgin vag!!! I mean, I'm happy w it now by far but it would be cool, boost his ego an say my my did sumone get bigger? Awe lmfao!!!! Jkjkjk I'm slap happy
Well with my son they used the forceps and ripped me really bad and when the doc went to stitch me back up she didn't clean it good at all so therefore it got infected and that does not feel good at all so had to go back to the hospital and they left it open and for 2 months straight I had to go to the hospital every day to get it repacked....
I had my first child a boy at 37 weeks on 3-15-11 vaginally with no epidural or meds! It was the most challenging, rewarding experience I ever had. It was very painful but I was thankful the labor was 4.5 hours and not any longer!
@ASMommy11 Congrats!! How big was he?? And im really shooting for no meds this time!! Damn nurses kept asking my for them since I was 3 cm dialated didnt give in till I was 7cm and I know I could have done it without them so im def gonna do it right this time!
Thank you! He was a healthy 7lb 4oz thank God! The nurses told me if I would've waited till my due date he would've been 9 pounds!! I was 4 cm dilated when I got to the hospital I was surprised cuz I wasn't supposed to get my cervix checked for dilation till 39 weeks lol guess that wasn't the plan. You should really try to it's all about concentration and pain with a purpose that's how I got through it. I can't tell you how many times during my labor I was doubting my body could do it without an epidural or meds but I asked God for strength. The worst happened for me early in the morning the next day when I suffered a hemorrhage and lost 2 pounds of blood. I wish you the best of luck and may God give u strength!:-)
This is my third, with my last one i was n labor so long they wanted a c section, because he wasnt moving through thr stations well. I had to push him ccompletely out... He jus wanted to stay forever. . I told them there was no way they were cutting me open! Lol, i pushed like there was no tomorrow! Once i got him down far enough, he came out quickly.
His heart had stopped so that's why but my son was fine thank goodness and when it started to get infected it hurt Like hell I couldn't even sit all the way on my bottom!
O I was but there was worse that happened at that hospital! Good thing for baby #2 I wont be there and have to deal with them but I am more than likely gonna get a c section on this one
@mymonkeyfamily. My hubby and I did perineal massage with olive oil for the last six weeks of my pregnancy...I had a small tear with my first but I blame the OB for having four people physically pick me up and lay me down in the bed as I was pushing. With my daughter (who was larger by 2 lbs) I was aloud to push in a comfortable position (partially squatting) and she let me "labor down". With my son they required that I have pitocin and it made my sons heartrate drop because the contractions were too strong for him. Also the singing was just the easiest way to focus on something other than my contractions. Just made the atmosphere so much better and more relaxing.
@blissmarie23 what does the olive oil do? So the forced pushing is the reason for the tearing? Sorry I just wanna get more intouch with this next delivery
If you can squat it enlarges the birth canal up to 35%. Lying down feet in stirrups makes your birth canal smaller and it overstretches the perineum making it easier to tear. Olive oil has been used as a healing lubricant for centuries so it makes the perineal skin moisturized and able to stretch more. They have had few studies on it that have said it's helpful and other studies that say perineal massage doesn't affect tearing. But from my personal experience the olive oil helped and so did patience waiting for my body to push the baby out. In fact it pisses me off when people wanted me to push more or harder. I had no interest in tearing and labored the way my body wanted to, not according to a clock or someone elses preferences
@blissmarie23 Wow thank you! Im gonna ask my dr bout my positioning now! And defenetly gonna do the olive oil! So when ur ready to deliver u dont push? Or u do but when u want?.. Ugh I know what u mean bout the nurses they litterly told me when I was only like 3cm dialated "you should get the epidural" like seriously!? My contractions didnt hurt till I was 7cm! And still didnt want it but they kept asking me every 10 mins! So I got it to shut them up! I regret it so much!
The muscles of your uterus can push the baby out on their own. In the second phase of labor you can speed things up by pushing or bearing down but you don't have to all the time. I was a little frustrated with my doula (who's also a good friend) practically yelling at me to push last time because I didn't have the feeling of needing to push. My daughter was large and it took real effort to push her out unlike my son who basically fell out.
You talked about the nurses bugging you to get the epidural. Lol. When I came in they said we'll get the anesthesiologist ready and I told them I wouldn't need it. If I want the meds I'll ask, and I had that in my birth plan. This time around I'm using a midwife and she has said that when women come in if they specify that they want to have a natural labor they find nurses who would like to do that rather than someone who just wants to give women drugs and watch the clock. I'm praying for a nurse who will honor my requests likemy midwife has so far. I had a great nurse last time. She was very helpful and calm. I wish I could have her at this birth too.
I'm really sorry you felt pressured to get the epidural. Its a shame that you should be put in that situation. I have a friend who was convinced by her husband to get a c-section. His first wife had had three and wanted to have three c-sections butmy friend wanted to have a vaginal birth. She went section for the c section and her son died. He was already in the birth canal and was about to be born Vaginslly but they convinced her that she had been in labor too long. Fortunately for my friend as they were sewing her up (without her knowing her son was dead) she prayed aloud to God to give her son "life in his body and breath in his lungs". He choked, breathed and came back to life. He is truly a miracle baby. Perfectly healthy except for some problems with his eye. She still regrets to this day that she let people convince her to have the c section.
