I have an underactive thyroid

Hi girls, I have a underactive thyroid and was wondering if anyone here had it or still have or even know ppl of having it? How dangerous can it be to my baby? I understand that the development of the baby slow buy I dont know wut the outcome of my babys health will be. Im currently taking meds to help my thyroid and the babys. I just hope my baby comes out to be normal and not mentally retatdation, godforbid. Alot of great help and stressfree comments please!

P.s. Im starting my 3rd month (12weeks)

    Are you seeing an endocrinologist? Are you on a synthroid? I have to tske levothyroxine every day and see my endocinologist every month during pregnancy.

    @catben yes I seen an endrocinologist, im currently taking the meds he gave me in the morning. Im actually on the same medication as u are. Im just worried thats all and its new to me.

    @catben hows the medicine working for u? Do u have any side effects to it? Ive taken it for about a week now and im getting headaches like crazy, weak, and nauseas. Im waiting til monday to call my doc to tell him.

    The doctor should take your levels at least every 6 weeks during pregnancy. If the get to low they will just up your dose. Everything should be just fine. Dont worry ;-)

    Ive been on it for 4 years. They had to lower my dose twice in the first year because I was habing a lot of heart pallpiltations at night. Ive been fine since they fixed my dose years ago.

    I have hypothyroid also I went to a specialist for tht and for having the cystic fibrosis(sp) gene... My daughter who is 1 now is perfectly healthy.. You shouldnt worry so much bout it just do what ur doc ask and take ur meds and ur baby should be great!
