  • Umm im not sure I think if temp is higher than 90 something degrees.. idk tho.. I admit I can take hot hot showers...
    sorry im no help.. :/
  • If bath water is too hot (I think they say over 100) in the first trimester it can increase the babys chances of a nueral tube disorder like spins bifida. All that said I've taken hot (but not hot tub hot) baths with every pregnancy and all my children are fine.
  • I asked.my doctor same question cuz.I like it as hot as it can go and he said it was fine but no hot tubs at all boo
  • @blissmarie23 I'm in my third trimester I'm 30 weeks and i took my first bath since being pregnant (cuz i just moved yesterday into a place with a bath an not just a shower lol) and i always took super hot baths before i love them but i tried to b careful it was pretty hot tho and now I'm not feeling well and I'm not feeling movement...i really hope baby is just sleeping :(
  • @jstnshrt Oh that is reassuring i love really hot baths and showers too but i haven't been in a hottub so that's good. I'm just trying to get him to move and no luck so far

Eat something sugary to see if the baby wakes up and moves. I am almost certain taking a hot bath this late won't hurt the baby. If its still not moving in a few hours I'd call ur OB. I'm sure the baby is just sleeping.
  • I'd say its just his sleepy time don't stress

I take a hot bath every night, our every other night with my girls. When they get out I make it hotter. As long as you dont get dizzy its fine. Just dont stay in too long
  • I think its to do with increasing your temperature. They don't like a pregnant lady having a high temp as they don't want it to affect the baby and in a very hot bath your temp will rise. I know what you mean, I like really hot baths, I've had to cool them down lots sin e being pregnant!
  • I jus went through same thing few hours ago turns out i just wasnt feeling it, but it was movin. Im around 28_29 weeks. Tell ya the same thing doc told me. Drink something sugary, lay on left side and count kicks for 2 hours. If less than 10, call dr.
  • Hot baths are okay, it's hot tubs that are the issue. Reason being, bath water temperature is consistantly dropping where as the hot tub temperaure regulates itself, therefore staying very hot.

As for bubby not bring active, drink something cold and sweet, o.j. is usually a great choice, and lie down for about an hour. 10 fetal kicks should indicate babe is okay.

As always, when in doubt, contact your pregnancy provider. It's always best to be safe as opposed to sorry. :)
  • @snreda i stayed in for about 1 1/2 hrs and was refilling with new water but i never got dizzy...

Ok as soon as i get home from work in about 45 more min I'm going to try the food and laying down thing he hasn'nt moved all night but I've been at work so i coulnt go lay down :(

@azmom i really hope your right!

@littlenat86 what would happen to baby if my body temperature did get too high? Labor? I feel like since i got out baby is lethargic..
  • @babyboyontheway I'm not sure sorry. Just know they say you shouldn't have them too hot as it raises your temperature. Have you tried fresh oj or a bit of chocolate to get him moving? Get in touch with your doc if your worried xx
  • Has your little boy woke up yet babyboyontheway?
  • @PebblesMommy no he hasn't moved yet today :( my Mom thinks i should go to the dr or er but I'm just hesitant because i hope he just might be getting to crowded in there to move much or something... i don't wanna go and feel stupid cuz hes fine and then i lost the money that i am supposed to go buy his nursery stuff with this week. A friend of my moms said when she was pregnant she wouldn't feel movement for days at a time sometimes, but she's a lot bigger than me. I don't know what to do. :/
  • if your were sweating....it was to hot
  • My dr told me that a hot bath is perfectly fine. Just try not to stay in for over 20 minutes. Like alot of these other women have said, it's the hot tubs and jacuzzis that are bad for you. I take hot baths almost every day and so did my sis and her baby is perfectly fine. :)
  • Call ur OB frist thing in the morning lol just to be on the safe side!!! Gd luck hun please let us know any changes¡!
  • I agree you should be seen. The bath may not be connected to the baby not moving. That is more worrysome then the bath.
  • JUST WANTED TO LET ALL THE LADIES WHO WERE WORRIED WITH ME THAT BABY HAS STARTED MOVING AGAIN :) IDK WHY HE WAS SO STILL FOR SO LONG BUT HE IS MAKING UP FOR IT NOW AND I CAN BREATH A LITTLE EASIER NOW. THANKS EVERYBODY FOR THE ADVICE AND SUPPORT. I LUV U ALL!
  • I had no movement I thought for 3 days with my second went to er n he was fine. Doest hurt to go getanother ultrasound: 0)
  • @azmom i agree i have an ultrasound appointment on the 12 if everything goes okay if like to wait till then cuz that's money i could use towards bottles n diapers u know? Lol
  • My doc said too hot is if you have to get into the tub slowly and hot hot showers were okay because of the fact the water sheets off you.
  • You were scaring the **** outta me babyboyontheway. Guess I shoulda checked back before today. I'm glad to hear everything is okay.
  • Okay, pregly just had a delayed reaction. You answered my question days ago but for some reason it didn't send me the email until last night. ??
