My Dr says right after I have him they can give me the shot..will my period come on afterwards? I dnt want it to honestly its the only reason why I'm gettin on the shot..oh & to get big lol
When I was on depo, after the first shot I didn't get a period until it was close to time for my next shot.. that's how it was the whole time I was on it.. I wld get my period 1 week before my next shot so every 3 months & also.. when I got on depo I lost 45lbs.. when I got off I gained 27.. every females body reacts different so don't get your hopes up JUST IN CASE
Also.. even though every woman is different, my 2 sisters & I, when we got our periods while on depo, they were VERY heavy with HORRIBLE cramping... almost unbearable
I was on Depo for 3 years. I had no weight gain (as prev stated, we're all different). I had no period the whole time, but spotting towards the end. My OBGYN at the time said it was good to take a break from it every two years. She had a really good analogy to describe why, but I am on my phone so keepin this a little shorter... you should know in my experience on it, I thought I was losing my damn mind. Everytime it was close to shot time, I would try to break up with my boyfriend at the time, cry at songs on the radio, and literally throw temper tantrums. The only reason I stayed on it so long was becausw it was the only thing that relieved my ovarian cyst pain. I do have a girlfriend who absolutely swears by it though! She has no problems. Just beware, if you're overly "emotional" recognize it sooner than I did!
I have been on depo for 5yrs and I love I didn't gain nor lose weight I stayed the same weight the whole time and once I got on it I never saw my period again after and after I have this one I plan on goin back on it
I had a bad reaction to depo and gaines 38 lbs in 12 weeks. I only gained 17 from the beby before depo! If you aren't planning on nursing look into nuvaring. I was on it and loved it. You have to change it once a month, but can get your dr to write it so you take it out and put one in and only leave it out once every 3 months. That way you only have a period every 3 months.
I had the stupid depo for like 2 years and i went from weighing 120 to a huge 180 i looked about 150 but still 180 is a lot! And i stopped my depo in oct because i was getting depressed about being fat and the dr said it could take up to 9 months to get pregnant so i shouldnt worry too much.... 2 months later i got pregnant! We couldnt be happier i REALLY wanted a baby so it turned out pretty good! But after this baby pops out its gym time EVERY day until im back to 120 or a size 5 in jeans!
Oh and i had the nuva ring before the depo and it just grossed me out knowing i had a thing like a rubber band chilling in my vaginia for 3 weeks straight lol
I was on depo for about 9 months, lost 40 lbs. And had a constant HEAVY period that could last weeks. The dr. Didn't seem too worried till I ended up 108 lbs and severely anemic! It was very scary!!!
I was on depo a year, lost weight, was super moody, no period when I was on it but as soon as I got off I had a period five months straight abdominal had a kidney infection from the shot
I was on depo for 5yr gained a total of 70lb and stoped taking it because I started passing out and devloping a rash on my arm when I got the shot. I also had to deal with depession for a year after. When I went to my new doctor she said I should have been taken of it after a year. Everyone is diffrent but be sure to listen to your body I was a stupied 18yr old and didn't I am still trying to loses the weight.
