  • I would talk to your doc I don't know much about that. God Bless

  • U may get it when the baby comes n it won't b much at first... the hospital will provide a pump (mines did) so u can see what u get n the nurses r helpful (well mines were)... also let them know u planning on breastfeeding b4 they stick a bottle in the babys mouth in the nursery
  • I Had my nipple pierced for years and nursed just fine. Your nipples are porous, not just one hole. Milk is not in yet, you dont get your milk until the baby nurses, 24 to 48 hrs after baby starts sucking, now you just have colostrum. Clear liquid that has all your anti bodies. Some people can express it, others can't.
  • When do your boobs go down if you not going to breast feed???

usually you won't get milk till baby is born Your body releases a hormones and knows when it is time. Amazing is the human body !!! As far as piercings I wouldn't worry :)
  • The doc at my breastfeeding class said you can still breastfeed after piercings since you have several points that milk comes out of the nipple. I would still check with your doc about it. Some people don't get any milk or leakage until after birth which is a normal thing.
  • I never had colustrum show until I gave birth. Hope that helps :)
  • I never did leak or produce any milk
  • I didn't get milk til the day my daughter was born. (Actually my "real milk" didn't come in until four days after I had her). It was the same with my son. I seem to recall having some breast pain a few weeks before I delivered but nothing crazy like engorgement. If you haven't had the baby or gotten your milk yet I wouldn't worry. You could talk with a lactacian (sp) concultant and see about the nipple scarring. But I doubt it would mean you can't nurse
  • Every pregnancy is different, with my first I could have nursed an army before he was born I leaked so much. With this one I can't even squeeze anything out. Your milk will come in after the baby is born and having them pierced will not effect it. I actually had a cyst removed from my nipple while pregnant and breastfeeding, and it still funstions perfectly!

@mommy2b2 if you can at least breastfeed the first 3 days so baby can get the colostrum, its so benificial! But if you don't plan on nursing wearing cabbage leaves in your bra will help your milk dry up quicker.
