The great thing about labor is your water can break at anytime before or during active labor. If you think your water broke even before contractions thats when you need to go to the hospital. Labor is very unpredictable lol it sux. Good luck.
With my first I never had any til they put me on pitocin and even then once they took me off they stopped I was in labor for 24 hours onlly dialated 4 cm and had to have a c section. And got an infection because they waited too long after my water broke. I had a pretty much painless labor.
