once a teen mom always a teen mom....

edited April 2011 in Teen moms
So I'm sitting here at my sons boy scout meeting. Which my dad usually brings him but he's out of town. Anyways I still feel so out of place. The other parents are way. Older then me and you can definitely tell. I seriously am finding it hard to have common interest with these people. LOL a couple tried to sit by me and talk but shortly got up and moved to other people they know Haha as they left they said your probably going to sit here and be facebooking or something!
So now sitting alone on pregly some things never change. Not to mention most of the parents here are super conservative . I really don't fit the profile or look. The joys of being a teen parent ten years down the road ;)

  • The bright side to the meeting is watching him have a ton of fun! He loves scouts...
  • thats good.. ive always been iffy about the scouts thing... if my boy wants to learn outdoors stuff i think me and my bf should be the one to teach him... but i guess it helps with the whole getting to know other kids thing...

I've heard mixed reviews but he is having a blast! I'm always open to letting my children try something if they want to. And if they don't like it they must finish never quit but I don't make them do it next year :) my son has tried a lot of stuff and scouts and soccer and football are his favorite and I support him 100% :) @jalem
  • I have the same issue. My daughter is in first grade and when I go to her functions the moms are about ten years older than me and business exec types. I'm 22 and my highest paying job has been waitress. I have tattoos and they wear business skirts. Now I sound like Taylor Swift. Anyways you're not alone. I think maybe in another six years the age gap won't seem so different but who knows.
  • My 5 year old daughter likes dance and art classes :)

  • @megrod88 perhaps there just needs to be more parents like us instead. Of these stuffies.... LOL not nice I know
  • yeah i can understand that... i want my baby to have an active life style just i was never in scouts and my parents taught me to throw a football/baseball tie knots build fires set up a tent and all the outdoorsy stuff and we have a really close relationship and i could beat everyone on the jrotc roster at land nav. tying knots for repelling. setting up the tents and all that.. so.. idk.. i think that if she wants to try ill do it but i aint sellin no cookies
  • i hope my daughter likes dance and art those are two things i love.. and can do with her
  • LOL selling cookies is fun for the kids like a contest. The beauty of scouts is u as the parent are very involved withthe activities! Tying knotts camping everything patents right there ;) @jalem
  • @kerrideern there are definitely more moms my age in my daughters class but again super conservative! Well see with this one since I'm 26 new experience :)
  • I was 21 when i had my first and i still feel like this at my daughters school things. Seems like the other parents r in their 40's... and im talking kindergarden things.
