  • Try an herbal doc. :)
  • I have the same problem! I eat lots of apples and pop tums like crazy! I find tum smooth work the best! But I would definantly talk to your doc good luck!
  • I have had it so bad with this one I woke up in the middle of the night with stomach acids dripping out of my nose. Regular tums didn't work, but Tums dual action or pepcid complete did. With my last one the dr prescribed something so ask at your appt.

  • @kenziesmom216 im 29 weeks, due june 20th. My uterus is up to my diaphragm, so I'm thinking having the baby is the only thing that will really solve the problem. I have been eating tums like they're candy, but they only work for a little while.
  • I'm only 9 weeks and I've been getting it the last couple days. It woke me up last night!
  • OK first thing is don't drink milk it makes heartburn worse! That is an old wives tale remedy that doesn't work. I have heartburn normally so when I'm pregnant it is soooooooo bad!!!!! Tell the doctor and they will give you nexium it is
a life saver & miracle drug!!! Perfectly safe for baby also.
  • I tried tums, rolaids, pepsid, zantac etc nothing worked except the nexium.
  • I know this will sound horrible, and definitely don't try it along side the baking soda remedy, but the only thing I've found that helps me is drinking a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar watered down... I know it sounds totally contradicting, but fight fire with fire! LOL I was desperate enough to try it and was surprised when I actually got some relief. Good luck finding what works for you!
  • My dr told me tums were fine rolaids not - I'm not sure the difference but I'm taking his word for it.
  • Don't drink milk. Milk is hard to digest so it makes the heartburn worse. Also tums contain a lot of calcium, which is why milk is not good. Calcium is hard to digest causing more heartburn. My OB recommended mylanta, which works really well for me. My OB also said to eat multiple small meals throughout the day versus 3 big meals. Keeping small amounts of food in your stomach helps. Good luck.
  • It's baking powder that really works for me.. baking soda is irritating..
