just a lil question

edited April 2011 in First Trimester
I'm 6 weeks and 2 days, I have an appt for an u/s today because I started spotting on Tuesday (no cramps).1st question, do you think I'm okay with that little bit of bleeding? And am I far enough if my baby is "alive" to see her heartbeat?

  • My experience: spotting and cramps at 6 weeks. Rushed to er, where we saw his heart beating away. I spotted the entire first trimester. My doctor didn't say it was normal, but he did say it was common. Also, don't freak out (hard not to) if they can't detect the heartbeat yet. I've seen a lot of women on here that didn't see their baby's beating hearts until the double digits! I pray for you and know what you're going through. Just try to rest as much as possible. Hope you get some relief, mama.

My experience: I'm 9wks and i have had spotting off and on since 5wks. Today i went to the doctor cause of the spotting he told me my cervix was closed but a little pink. And i had an u/s and the baby was wiggling and heart beat was 152. So bleeding can be normal in pregnancy for a number of reason but always tell your doc. Try to take an easy. Don't lift heavy stuff. And DONT STRESS OUT. Good luck.
It might be too early to see anything but they can still measure the sac and make sure your at 6wks
  • @hnjen I'm staying very positive, I've had no bleeding at all this morning! I'm very excited to get an ultrasound today about 7 hours to go! :)
  • @jcbowker tell me how it goes.
  • I had some spotting at the beginning of my pregnancy. Was told it had something to do with implantation of the sac. I am@almost 34 weeks and the baby is very healthy and very active.
  • I had a scan yesterday as I was spotting and had a couple of twinges.

Everything is more than fine, saw the heartbeat. so fingers crossed that yours is fine too.
  • My little sticker has a heartbeat!!! And I was one day off instead of being due November 30th, I'm due December 1st! So stinking happy!
  • oopps stinker****
  • Just goes to show that the best reaction when something freaks you out is to take a few deep breaths and calm yourself down!
  • @Jwigs oh yeah? And who freaked out??
  • Some people in similar situations work themselves up into a panic.
  • Yeah very true. I'd go absolutely crazy if I didn't stay positive.
