What crazy things have you done as a sleep deprived mom?

I've done some dumb stuff in the middle of the night (with my first daughter) while up for a late night feeding/diaper change. Like putting the diaper on backwards and waking up to a mess or trying to make a bottle in the dark and completely missing and pouring the powder all over the floor. Just crazy random thing.
What crazy stuff have y'all done?

  • I fell asleep changeing my daughter so when I picked her up she peed all over me
  • During a late nite feeding I accidently put my phone in the microwave instead of the bottle...and I called myself being a prepared mommy by making a couple bottles for late nite feedings at nite before I went to bed! Lol. Needless to say we went phone and microwave shopping the next day. Now pregnant with my second and I'm definitely sticking to breast feeding this time.
  • I was nursing my daughter out in the living room, and she was crying to so I thought ok, then go get your dad. So started to put her on the floor to walk to her dad. She was only 3 days old, I'm glad I realized ehat I was doing before I let go of her. I think I thought she could walk like her brother..........@AndThenTheyWere2 that's soooo funny about putting your phone in the microwave!!
  • Im constantly filling my daughters sippy cup and giving it to my husband!
  • Put toothpaste on a cotton face pad instead of face toner.
  • Walked out of the house with no shoes on, & got down the street before I realized. Grabbed the diaper bag instead of my bookbag & got all the way to school before realizing. Put milk in the pantry & cereal in the fridge. Salt in my coffee instead of sugar. That's just the ones I can remember off the top of my head. I still can't tell you the actual date, just what day of the week it is! :)
  • I decided 2 tke a late nite bath roun 2am so I culd relax an wen I got out da tub instead of me putn on lotion I put on dish washing liquid. "Can yu say antha bath"
  • @kcoolzchic ...dishwashing liquid?? :-?
How'd you manage that? Did you walk all the way to your kitchen? I am confused.

@mama_underpants you win!!! ^:)^ That is hilarious!!!
  • @TheSmilingBeauty I had it n da bathrm cuz I had ran out of liquid handsoap so I used it earlr dat day 2 wash my hands n I dnt kno wat I waz thnkn at dat time but I waz mad as eva.
  • I woke up one morning and had changed fed and reclothed my one week old daughter. She was in bed with me and I never kept her in my bed.. Small bed.. I had formula leaking on me from the bottle and a dirty diaper on my blanket by my leg.
  • *and couldn't remember her even waking up.. Hmm.. Sleep walking??
  • I had a dog that dug out of our yard one evening & ran away, and for some reason I thought if I left the front door WIDE open all night, he'd just happen to wander by, see the open door & come in. I fell asleep on the living room floor, and when my hubby got up for work the next morning (he leaves super early) he came out & said "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?" Lol... thank goodness I live in a safe town!!! :D
*yeah, the dog didn't come back; he fell asleep on some lady's porch 1/2 mile away & she called me from his ID tag, lol...
  • Phone was ringing...I answered the remote control...WTH??
  • With my daughter..I put her onsie on backwards. No diaper, and passed out standing and leaning on bassinet. Put milk instead of water in formula. I took baby cereal out cabinet in dark made a bottle. She loved it but I caught on but only after the nipple split from her sucking so hard. Fell asleep with her breast feeding woke up with her rooting for the other leaking nipple
  • @kcoolzchic oh ok... I bet you were mad.
I've reached for a bottle of baby oil, instead of my cup of juice on many occassions.
  • @TheSmilingBeauty plz tell me yu caught urslf b4 yu actually drank it? Lol :)
  • Yeah, I have never drank baby oil...well, not yet
  • @Kriss82001 that is so funny. I been doing backward stuff too. I get in the car w my house shoes on all the time.
  • Lol to alll of these. Its crazy how you can actually function on no sleep!
  • Not because of a newborn, I am always sleep deprived due to working on third shift 11to7. Somedays I only get less than 5hrs. One of those days *gasp* forgot to pick my daughter up @ school. She was maaad!!
