  • With my first had him naturally. My second I had pregnancy induced hypertension so I had to have an epidural. When we have our third I will have no epidural. I hve been having back issues since the epidural. If u want one I suggest getting it early in labor. You have to hold super still and when u have strong contractions that can be hard
  • @victoriab i feel the same way.....thats y idk if i wanna go natural....i only want one baby
  • I have scoleosis and have had back problems for years. Having to hold still is something that is hard for me to do. I am going back and forth between having one or not.
  • I had an epidural with my first. When I git to the hospital at 8:30am I was 3cm they gave me pitocin and then I can't remember what time I had the epidural but anyways I had my daughter at 6:33pm. So I don't think it was long.
  • Ummm...I'm no super hero..if I take a pill for a headache I'm so #TeamEpidural lol. More power 2 the #NaturalMoms tho
  • I didn't have an epidural with my first but I was asking for 1, they just took forever with it and by the time they came to give it to me I was fully dilated. With this 1 (even though il probably end up asking for 1) I dont want 1, because with my first I had him at 8.53pm and was out of hospital the following day at 4pm so I want this one to go the same just a quick in and out, but if u have and epidural u have to stay in longer xx
  • I just want to kill the "epidural=longer pushing" myth...I had an epidural w my first and only pushed for 30 mins...Dr told me average for the first is 2 hrs. I've also heard that when u have an epidural, the baby comes out less alert-if my son came out any more alert, he would have been walking! Every woman is different...don't let stories of other ppl change ur mind. And to those going natural...much credit!

  • I had my daughter natural, my mom used to say "it's the worst pain thats the easiest to forget". Plan to have my boy natural too.
  • I had an epidural. My entire labor was 8 hours start to finish. I could feel when it was time to push. Tearing has nothing to do w an epidural thats just luck of the draw. I pushed literally 2 times and he was out. I was up and. walking 30 mins after he was born. Had him at 354pm on a monday was painting our livingroom by the same time tuesday
  • I went natural for my 1st two children. I feel as if I didn't need that epi with my 3rd( passed away due to ntd) child, I'd be doing natural with this baby. Having an epi, made it easier to concentrate on my emotions bc he was going to die shortly after birth. I'm choosing epi again.

I have had 2 natrual.. asked for a epi. With the last but by time they came it was too late... time to push.
I was also induced with both.
  • Epidural all the way!!! My friend is now on her fifth baby and has never had anything during labor so with my first I wasn't gonna have anything either cause I had to prove myself.. screw that! As soon as I felt the pain I wanted the drugs mind u I'm the biggest wimp when it comes to any kind of pain so it didn't take much lol and I'm doin it again this time....
  • I'm hoping to just use gas and air. I was thinking of a water birth, but then I read about it. You can poop yourself after giving birth and I really don't like the idea of being in yucky water. Sorry if that was too graphic.
  • lmaoooo eww poopy water ! im deciding to try natural ....god bless me please lol
  • I've decided an epidural without question!
  • I will be attempting natural this time around with a midwife and all types of pain coping remedies. I had two previous epidurals and my first delivery the epidural did not take and my son was in my arms in three hrs of labor and 4 pushes. But it was extremely painful since i had back labor and had to lie in a bed because of the epidural that didnt even work. My second delivery was 21 hrs and i had an epidural as early as i could.... and thats almost instantly stopped my dialation. So it all varies i guess. However i wont say epidurals make you push longer because again with my second he was in the world in two pushes ..you do feel the pressure and urge to push still with an epidural.
  • Epidural with my first and I will have an epidural with this one too. At the hospital I went to you can have an epidural and give still give labor on your hands and knees or squatting with assistance. I pushed for 15 minutes. No side effects from the epidural.
  • @mommaroy your mom is so right
  • I have nothing you o prove yo anyone lol Im epidural all the way! It makes my labour progress faster as my contractions are usually really high the beginning of labour. If your body is stressed it causes u not to dialate as fast :) everyone is do diff thou. My sister inlaw went without anything hut she had baby quick. I wish
  • im going to try for a natural birth, but i do plan on taking the epidural class just in case it gets to be too much. im just scared of side effects from an epidural and i've also heard it slows down labor.
  • I had an epidural went to the doc @ 5pm was 5centimeters. pushed only 3times she was out had her @ 11pm. NOO PAIN. NOO TEARING. Yes epidural round 2 plz!!!

  • epidurel !!!!
  • I wanted a natural birth but had 2 have a c-section due 2 complications x
  • Not even questionable, especially if u have felt the pain. Pre order the epidural once your admitted so u know u will get one!

  • I tip my hat off to those who can deliver with no meds I plan on taking classes but I'm getting an epidural as soon as I get there
  • I'm all about the epidural. Had one with both my boys and planning on having one with this third one. Why feel pain when you don't have to is how I feel!!( :
  • I'm also doing an epidural. I have high blood pressure and if I get stressed it won't be good for baby. Hopefully minimal pain for us both!
