Yeah because their processed canned food is waaaay better than the lunch their parents give them...or how about its the parents RIGHT to give their children what they deem to be okay? Taking our rights away bit by bit...Disgusted!

    Its a safety hazord...when we had parties in school we weren't able to bring in home made food...it had to be bought from the store and the package could not be opened...it was to prevent people tampering with food to make others sick or things like if another student had an allergic reaction to something or if another student were to choke on it they can go after who made the food and the school...I understand that but not able to bring a packed lunch is excesive...

    @jmask, I thought it was an allergy related thing, too, and was ready to defend it, but it's not. They claim it's healthier. Ssooo ... I don't like it. What if you want organic foods?

    4real?! what about if i wanna give my kid a coke 1 day?! or what if i think my home made lunch is healthier than their foods?! i dont remember my school lunch ever being healthy...pre packaged frozen crap is what they give out anywayz...thats healthy now!? & hazardous!? come on now...they can tamper with any food at all...& they can be allergic 2 any food at all, too...thats retarded!

    This is horrible..... Again I hate processed and high fructose corn syrup anmd BHT and a tone of CRAP they put in our food and watch closely that my family eats as natural as possible.... minus my recent preggo cravings lol. I would be very very upset with Ohio schools if they did this seriously? If they want to make it so children can't pack lunches then they need to feed our children better and not CRAP!

    Its all horse shit...it all boils down to bringing more money to the school is all it is...you really think they care about your childs health? All your child is to them is profit....in a highschool of 500 if 200 of the students pack their lunches and lunches cost $2.00 each forcing them 200 students to buy their food brings them in $400 more each day

    My guess is it started with one or two kids bringing absolute crap from home for lunch, which does happen, and everyone else gets to suffer. I think they could let patents know that sodas are not allowed in lunches, but I don't get his they can make u purchase their food. I guess I would lie and say my kid has an allergy if I didn't want to buy school lunches.

    Its not going to last...somebody is going to make a big stink about it...kids are going to start going home hungry because they will only eat bits and parts of their lunches if any of it at all...they will start having an excesive amount of students in the nurses office all the time because students will start to become sick due to lack of food intake and so on...it will just cause more problems than expected and will be over turned
