TMI . . . raw after wearing pads, HELP!!

edited April 2011 in Pregnant
I have had to wear a pad for the past few days because of bleeding after my exam @ the docs office. I can't remember the last time I wore pads for an extended time and now I am completely raw from them. It hurts to walk, wipe after I pee, dry off after my shower . . . I am miserable and now I'm thinking about what the heck I'm going to do after I give birth and have to wear pads for weeks. Has anyone else had this problem or can anyone tell me of something I can use down there to help heal this up quickly? I am due in 10 days and really don't want to go into labor with an already raw va-hoo-ha!

  • When I got like that I actually used diaper rash cream and it helped
  • Try corn starch powder, may help with the chaffing and burning. Aww, pads suck!
  • I used them at night when I slept, but never had that problem. I hope it goes away soon as it was mentioned try the diaper rash cream sounds like a good idea.
  • If u want it to go away fast... try the overnight desatin (diaper rash) cream (not ointment). Should work wonders. Have u told the doc u r still bleeding? Good luck mama.
  • Yep diaper rash cream but dnt put any powder unless u wash every day n mayb night as that may actially cause an infection
  • I have always used diaper rash cream for that kind of problem. Seemed like the only thing that helped.
  • Diaper rash cream. You might be allergic to them I can only pay a certain ones. So I had to try a few after I gave birth and m/c
  • Duh, didn't even think about diaper rash cream and I have like 10 tubes of it from my baby showers. I thought about cornstarch but wasn't sure if it would dry things out too much. Thanks guys!!

  • @mommyof3girls my doc knows, my appt was late Monday afternoon so it has only been 2 days, if it continues into tomorrow they will get me to come to the office but baby is moving just fine so he isn't too worried.
  • I got a smaller size in my panties (they were too big & shifting too much) then I used A & D ointment (the Vaseline like one); also Neosporin will help (the one with the pain reliever in it will help numb things so it doesn't burn as badly). I hope this helps!!
  • Witch hazel pads help with the pain too.
  • Thanks everyone! I'm going to write down all of these suggestions for after I give birth too, I'm sure I won't remember them in the middle of all the stress. My va-hoo-ha is very grateful!! :-)
  • Ugh I have the same problem when I have to wear pads. It is so painful! I used A&D ointment cream and also tucks pads. and at night time it helped a lot to sleep on top of a towel with no underwear or anything. not looking forward to wearing pads postpartum again.

  • Omg that happened to me in my previous pregnancy! I wasn't bleeding, but I was wearing liners because of the discharge pregnancy was causing. My inner thighs & by my perenial area were totally raw! Absolutely awful, very sore, I went to the hospital & they told me it was dermatitis? & told me to use zinc oxide cream. After a few days it went away & came back two weeks later! I was freaking out, so I went to my dr & when they seen it they said it could either be a heat rash because it was close to summer & it gets hot down there or it could be a yeast infection so they gave me some nystatin just incase.
