Breastfeeding

Wow this is really hard your first time around. I can see why so many mom's give up on it. But I am sticking with it. If anybody wants to talk or discuss their issues with it. I would like that.

  • Good for you! It took my son and I a few weeks before we had the knack of it...He ended up only being able to latch on properly if I held him like a football! But it was sooo worth it. Good luck!
  • Thats kinda how my daughter is, she is a sucker. Tmi but damn my nipples hurt. @tastylove How old is your son?
  • You go girl! From my son everyone doubted that I could breastfeed him, my family as well as my BF family thought I would give up after a couple of days, but I didn't I breastfed him for 6 months and when I went back to full time work I dried out =( but u know what it is the most beautiful experience in the world! As soon as my son was born and they placed him on my chest he wanted to be breastfed, he cooperated so much, its painful sometimes but it is all worth it! Stay strong you can do it =)
  • My son had a hard time at first would latch on suck a few min and be done turned out I was producing to much and had to pump before I could feed. My daughter I had latched on and nursing before I delivered the placenta and they stiched my tear.
  • @KrazymomofAdrian He is actually 8 1/2 now! But I remember the beginning so clearly. My nipples were.sore and I would get red blisters from him not patching on correctly. Eventually we got it : ) Everybody thought I was weird but I nursed him til he was 2 1/2 and we were both ready to wean. I am almost 7 weeks with my second, and I can't wait to have that bonding experience again. I think it is worth the energy to try it and to go on as long as you are comfortable. How old is your little one?
  • *latching
  • @camommy yea she had her fingers in her mouth rite after she was out. She likes to suck for a few minutes then fall rite asleep. I didn't think that I would ever need a pacifier but with her it will be useful. Just for bedtime.
  • @tastylove 4 days. We finally have a system down that works. She is worth the best we can give her which is my milk. I can't wait for when it doesn't hurt though.
  • @tastylove yea but if you both wanted to go that long. No reason why you shouldn't. I think I am gonna try for a year.
