Oh my gosh! Im gonna cry. I believe ...after having 4 babies...that more babies would do better if they put premies on moms chest for the whole time of hospitalization.
@rhondala71 Yes I definatley agree. Skin to skin is to helpful in helping babies thrive, even if their not preemies. I nurse my babies as much as possible skin to skin too. THe bond is so incredible. Doctors don't know everything, only God does, and this baby was far from being dead. Amazing seeing him squirm and then seeing him months later at home bigger and healthy. Wow!
I wish my #1 was put straight on my chest. But my preg & labor was perfect & they wisked her away anyway. Her father didn't even get to cut the cord. This labor will go my way as long as there's no complications. No episotomy either. They did that the frst time w/o asking.
My nephew was born at 26 weeks gestation and he had a very slim chance of making it past 24hrs, so my sister put him on her bare chest and did "kangaroo care" and he not only made it past 24hrs but he's now a thriving 7year old!!
