are you suppose to have a baby shower if this is your second child? update

I don't know if its ethical to have another baby shower after your first kid. What do you guys think?

Well I think now its ok to have one, however I'm not having one lol!

    Go for it. I don't think it matters rather its your first, second or third if you want a baby shower make it happen.

    I know a lot of people who do, and they called it a baby sprinkle! They just did things on a smaller scale than their first baby shower.

    I've been wondering the samething. I had a baby shower for my twins, but that was 10 years ago, and I gave all of their stuff away to family because I was told I was never having any children again. I really don't see anything wrong with it, but I was wondering if other people did.

    I think my sisters would flip if I didn't but I'm still on the fence the sprinkler seems nice too. My mom said to have it after I give birth so everyone can meet the baby for first time. I don't think I'm having everyone at the hospital this time.

    Haha I think it's funny that you see it as an ethical dilemma. If you need one or if someome just wants to give you one I say go for it. My 1st was born just last year so I don't plan on having another one. Maybe a little get together with my closest friends like a lunch or something to celebrate would be nice though.

    Everyone in my family, well Hawaii throws one for every baby you have.. in my opinion the party is to help jump start stocking up on diapers bottles and all those other little things people think the baby needs... or you need... also in Hawaii most guest don't buy furniture for your shower... if they have furniture they give it to you outside of the party so as not to make others feel bad for getting you a bottle set ...

    Yea I think u should have a baby shower, especially if u gave things away from ur first baby. I'm pregnant with my second one and I'm sure having one. However my kids are 4 yrs apart so I gave stuff away.

    My son just turned one this weekend...I don't feel comfortable having another shower but what I am going to do is have a PAMPER PARTY!!!! Lol..I am going to invite everyone close to me...no gifts just diapers :)... hope this helps :)

    Word on the streetz is my sisters are throwing me a shower. However they want to do it the same month as my husband and sons bday. Too much I feel but they will work it out.

    I think everyone should have one for every baby.its a celebration for the baby.who doesn't want to celebrate that?I had one wit my 1st.me n hubby bc it was his 1st had one wit my 2nd.I didn't get one wit my 3rd I thought I should have bc he was my 1st boy.I had one wit my 4th bc there was an 8yr gap between my kids and I gave everything away.this one is a girl so I would like a small very small one bc I have no girl stuff and it would be nice.well see though.I don't have much family and no one likes each other and I got rid of all my friends but 1 bc they were all back stabbing b!+#*3$.

    I am having a boy this time and my frie.ds have thrown me two showers. One of them was a diapers and wipes shower. We did a raffle drawing for everyone who brought diapers wipes or a gift card. (I do not recommend actually opening gift at a diaper and wipes shower because its extremely boring and repetitive.)

    My husbands work got excited and they are throwing me a surprise baby shower!!

    I am planning on having a meet the baby party too. Just as an opportunity for everyone to come over and meet him. Plus its tradition in my husbands culture to have a baby naming ceremony/outdooring party before you take the baby in public.

    I think if your children have quite an age difference then sure, also if its a different sex...? We are actually currently having this issue in my family. Lol my WONDERFUL sister in-law just had her 4th child (2 boys, 2 girls) and the oldest just turned 4, while she was pregnant with this last baby boy she gave away all of her baby supplies (clothes, changing table, crib, etc.) because she was expecting a baby shower and everybody is supposed to bring her gifts for her & Baby. So in a situation like that, I think its kind of petty to expect people to replace things you so willingly just gave away. But I think like a little celebration for every baby is a good thing, but don't expect gifts. **I'm definitely not saying that's what you are intending...I just kind of starting rambling...ha.

    I dont see any reason why you can't have a baby shower for every child you. Lol thats like saying will you the second baby so we aren't going to celebrate your birthday. Having a baby shower is your way of celebrating this new life you created. Plus what if its been years since the last baby and you have nothing for the new baby. I dont see any reason why you can't.

    Definitly do it? Who gets harmed? Besides baby showers are nice especially bc u get lots of things that u dnt have to buy! U will be needing the extra xash when ur bundle of joy gets here!!!!

    I personally don't think more than one baby shower is acceptable, but to each their own. A meet and greet is a good idea and every baby should be celebrated but I think it's rude to expect gifts.

    I think more than one shower is perfectly fine. People love you and want to celebrate with you. It's not like you have a new baby every day and people will buy/spend however much they are comfortable with. Don't worry. It'll be fun!

    I. Had one 8years ago then he passed away 3years later I had my son who is now 5no bb shower as I still had things...I'm going to. Have one w this baby as I'm in a new state new demanding friends Lol..I had no clue that people didn't have one for every baby...I'm running into the feeling that my 5year old will feel left out so I'm. Going to make day before extra special just for him

    I just went to a shower for a girl who is on her 5th baby..... full baby shower with fancy decor and everything. So nah don't think it matters lol.
    Also, the girl was only 25 and all 5 kids have different fathers, apparently, so idk. (I only went because my mom knows the girls mom)
