I will be 5 months pregnant next friday, is it.....

edited April 2011 in Pregnant
Bad to be on my feet for 8-12 hours? My back, hips and legs are already killing me but my fiance thinks that i will be okay(he is super insensitive) since i am only going to be 5 months is he right?

  • We ll all the girls at work had done it til they had the baby and i plan to do it too. It think its a matter on how much ppl can take. If your boss lets you fo home half days jump on it. It is good to be off your feet still

  • If your sore or tired...take a break...you shouldn't exhaust yourself just because someone else says you'll be ok...noone knows your body better than you...
  • Yes its ok. For me it made my second labor and delivery so much easier
  • Well my fiance is my boss and he wants me to stay working as long as i can because all he is worried about right now is saving money not about my health....idk i guess i will just stick it out ladies thanks :)
  • Make sure u have good support in ur shoes ...my sister got varacose veins in her VA Jay Jay from being on her feet on a cement floor... she said they hurt pretty bad
  • I'd invest in a pair if skechers work shoes and super feet inserts. Feels like walking on marshmallows :) That's what saved me at my last two jobs!
  • Ugh @mommy2audrey and @VictoriaB i cant wear comfy shoes...where i work is really wet so i have to wear these big ugly black boots that almost go up to my knees..and they are way to big because they only come in mens sizes. I tryed inserts but they NEVER stay in place i have probably spent like over $150 on damn inserts!
  • Ahh I know how u feel! I work in a shop nd I have to wear men's steel toe boots ... I guess try to put ur feet up on ur breaks maybe go down to half time soon then see if that helps... I had my ob write a note saying I should stop working. That was at 33 weeks tho, I didn't want my water breaking at work!
  • I want my water to break at work! O have carpeting in my apartment. Besides, I don't want to clean it up :p

Put your feet up when you can. Keep a pillow to sit on, too.

  • U should be really careful since its wet n the shoes dnt fit u too good either! :/
  • I waited tables with my first and had a friend who was about a month ahead of me who was preggers too. I told my doc that I was on my feet all the time lifting trays etc. He wrote a letter requiring that I get a mandatory 15 min break every four hours. I made sure to take my break and worked til my due date. My friend didn't insist and went into early labor they put her on bed rest from about 6 months on. If I were in ur shoes I would see what ur doc says and follow it regardless of ur BD manager
  • I think im going to try to get out of work when i go to the doctors next week i cant take the pain anymore it hurts so damn bad to just walk tylanol is not working at all. And since im working all the time i only eat wawa, mcdonalds and wendys every nite and its not healthy. All i do is go to work come home go to sleep then back to work again 6 nights a week :(
  • I cut my work in half every woman's body is different
  • I work at a hospital and work 12 hour shifts and am 5 months it's starting to get uncomfortable but I'm going to work up until I go into labor unless the dr says different. I can't afford to not.
