I'm freak'n out !!! ... ultrasound @ 7wks & jst a sac outline ???

Okay... my name is Marisol, I am 27 years young and from Connecticut. My due date is put at Sept 19th and I am pregnant with my second child. My first child is almost 4 and just a joy, he has been asking for a sibling for about a year now. After many health issues I was thought not to be able to conceive, then Jan 10th I had a pos pregnancy test... I was super excited! On Tuesday I went for my first ultrasound making me a day over 7wks. My dr was able to see the sac but the image was very grainy so we were unable to make out a baby or heartbeat. I'm scheduled to go back Thursday but I'm freaking out. I have done lots of research and it all seems so grim. My dr said if he was unable to see the baby thurday that I would be sent for a vaginal ultrasound. I'm stressing out, I hate the waiting game... I'm about ready for a breakdown! PLZ HELP now what???

    Stormy, did they do a trans vaginal on tuesday? From what I was told by my OB at 7 weeks you're too early to see anything on a regular sonogram it has to be trans vaginal in order to see and hear the heartbeat.

    If your only 7 weeks he should have done a vaginal ultrasound to begin with.. that's what my doctor did anyway. Good luck! I hope everything works out!

    No it was a regular one... I go to a community clinic so they have lower end machines. They don't have a transvaginal sonogram to work with so I would be sent to the hospital in order to have that done.

    Honestly hun, I wouldn't worry too much.(i know that's easier said than done) My OB has top of the line equipment and they wont even do a regular sonogram until ur past 11 weeks because the baby is still too small to pick up on a belly sonogram. Try to breathe easy until you can get a trans vaginal, if it isnt too expensive you might want to consider going to the hospital on your own, just sl that you can have peace of mind. But until they do a trans vaginal sonogram, please don't stress yourself out.

    Thank you so much, that is a bit of a relief... I suppose the internet can be ones worst enemy with all that vast info. I'm def going to try to take it easier, I'm just super siked to be preggers and hoping for another healthy baby sometime in sept :)

    Yea...I wouldn't worry too much...ur doc shoulda gave u a vaginal ultrasound from the beginning...itss jus better when u are in ur first trimester..good luck

    :) I'm sure everyone on this app understands your excitement completely. I wish you the best! Just remember that stress is not good for the lil one. Keep a positive mindset so that you can try to remain as calm as possible. And definitely dont believe everything you read. I know from personal experience that when it comes to your peace of mind during pregnancy reading is not always fundamental. Take care hun, and keep us updated. Our thoughts are with you.

    Everyone has been super kind thank you all. I will def keep everyone posted my next reg ultrasound is Thursday if the dr doesn't see anything then I will be sent for the trans vaginal ultrasound. Keeping my fingers crossed and high hopes! Thanks everyone thank a million

    I had both at 6 ks and could only see baby and heart on vaginal
